I just saw a video of a black dude being arrested in his porch in The Carolinas. Walahi I've been apathy to the plight of African Americans while living there and even BLM and I'm grateful to have not experienced any pervasive racism of any kind during my years there but this is too much. I usually am not much of an empathy guy but this video literally gave me goose bumps. America in indeed a falling empire and will get what's coming to it unless drastic measures are taken. Subhannahah.

This contrary to popular opinion is nothing new. There is a reason why black people have always had issues with police and the authorities. The only new thing is the visibility thanks to camera technology. We now see black people have always said.

On a personal level I've never had any bad experience with the police, and most of my interactions with them have been limited to being pulled over. Just last week I was in a car that was pulled over. My friends license wasn't valid, he was speeding 15 over the limit, and the windows were tinted way beyond the legal limit, I very nicely asked him to give us a break and he kindly obliged. So not all experiences with the police is negative and a lot of times there are other factors like locality that can play a big part.

Because a cop is sworn to protect and serve the community he or she is policing. Not only that but they are paid and supported by tax revenue from the people. You are trying to paint a false equivalent.

You're conflating two issues. These white cops are paid by taxpayers to do one job and to do it right. As representatives of the state if they fail then the consequences are much bigger than just individual black criminals attacking each other on the streets. They are under oath to 'protect' and to 'serve' the citizens of said state. Criminal citizens did not.
Yes, black on black crime happens but they are internal issues to be fixed within that community. It does not justify white cops, who are servants of the citizenry, breaking the law.

Racism is deep rooted in the system in America, and African Americans and Latinos are a target for the corrupt police force in this country. If you look at it deeply, you can see that the unprovoked arrests and the unjust sentencing that follows are all designed to keep the population of these two minority groups down.

I see some people making issue out of the drug related crimes, that is very common amongst the whites as well. It is only the right-wing media that puts the focus on poor black and Latino neighborhoods. The media may not tell you but there are actually continent-wide white gangs such as Hells Angels and others who commit more crimes and drug-related violence, but your evening news only focuses on poor minority neighborhoods.

In the workplace, having a criminal record automatically denies them from having a suitable employment, and even when they're employed, they're overlooked when it comes to promotions.

That said, there are still good people in this country - people who are hardworking, law-abiding citizens. So, hopefully something good will come out of this new attention that focuses on the bad apples in the police force and in the courts as well.

You're seeing things I haven't said. I never said priotise one over the other . As I said before, black-on-black crime is one issue and the police force's disproportionate brutality towards blacks is another. Your argument is like the person who objects to funding for cancer research because there are other diseases that need to be cured! The question is, why do you choose to conflate the two issues? They are separate. Also you have not acknowldeged my point on the people's power, citizens have the right to question public servants in a democracy, regardless of anything.

Jalaludin's logic is to say problems cancel each other out and there is no need for further action since the racist cop does something similar to what the black criminal does to his community. This is the logic of white American Racists who justify the killings of unarmed innocent African Americans by the police. The issue is the fact that human life is important and it should NOT be taken without reason regardless of who does it. It is more painful when someone tasked and paid to protect it takes that life without justifiable reason.
