According to various sources, the battle will begin somewhere in October:

It will consist of tens of thousands ground troops:

Iraqi Armed Force and shia militias.

Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

Kurdish Peshmerga

6,000 USA force.

Hundreds of British and French force.

Turkish army alongside with Turkmen and Suuni Iraqi fighters.

VS

ISIS.

However it is not clear who will rule it afterward as they are divided through ethnic and religious lines.
