Mohamed Farah was the 3rd most influential person of Arab origin few years ago and I'm sure he'll make it to the top 3 this year.

No one really cares about that nigger Mo Farah in the Arab world its just a list

Let me dispell some myths. There's nothing wrong with Arabs, they are a heterogenous group. That much I am aware. However, the problem stems from a need to claim what you are not. If you are recent Arab admixed, this does not apply to you.

Somalis are not Arab.

Somalia is the only (non-Arab) country in the Arab League. I omitted Eritrea because it's an observer nation ( however they have a bit of admixture so I'll let it slide) and Djibouti, it followed Somalia's lead, the vast majority of its residents are non-Arab; Somalis and Afars. However, they have a significantly larger Yemeni population (per capita) than in Somalia (so I'll let it go).

Somalis don't speak Arabic as their (primary language).

100% Somalis do not have any Penninsula Arab DNA.

Premise - Mo Farah cannot be an Arab. Might I add, Arabs are a colour struck people, they like you if you are ivory, not ebony. Sure Mo might have sharp features, but they would just as easily overlook that, despite their desire for a slim nose evidenced by the popularity of rhinoplasties in the Arab world. Mo Farah is being celebrated as an Arab because we haven't heard of any well-known Arab runners. And people love to align themselves with success, hence their desire to claim him. If the brother was still trying to make it out of the hood, he wouldn't even be mentioned by you either (even though he was dedicated to hard work). It's a shame people don't celebrate the process just the end product. FYI, if they tried to claim a Kenyan runner it wouldn't work out.

You may not heard of any well-known Arab runners because you might not be into sport but everyone know the greatest middle-distance runner of all time is nothing other than " Hicham El Guerrouj ". Mohamed Farah was not being celebrated because of his success, they cheered on Ayanleh Souleiman too although he failed to make it to the final.

I do agree with you Arab countries are heterogeneous group so is/was Somali Republic. Many Somali nationals don't speak Somali as their ( primary language ) yet they are considered Somali.

Rule of thumb, the dominant language of your mainstream Somali is Somali. The diaspora-born Somali could speak English only, but that does not make them ethnically English. I don't mind friendly relations with our neighbors that we share a faith with, but we aren't Afro-Arab. That's the point I'm trying to make.

A Morrocan runner, soomaha. Another African. I consider them Arabized. However, identity is complicated and if that's what they go by despite evidence to suggest no substantial peninsula Arab gene flow. Then so be it. At least they speak some forms of Arabic. Collectively, running isn't what they are known for (that's what I meant). Excuse my ignorance but I had a dish dash wearing Saudi misusing a treadmill, in mind.
