Somali Region and Somaliland have a flag similar to Ethiopia.No sign of any trait of a star and blue colour.Even the new Jubaland have a blue and star in it and so is puntland,Gladumug and Hirshabeele.
The colour blue and a star is a marker of Somali identity and nationalism.

Have a look at these flags,So similar and no blue and star visible.in fact somliland has a black star.
