I truly believe Dubai Dp world invested in berbera to stop other competing port operator like bollore. And that their main port will be Djibouti and will invest more money in that port to serve Ethiopia. What's even mad it's the 30 year contract. Dp world will not have one competitive company in East Africa for that amount of time.
This the problem for Somaliland as we are stuck between a rock and a hard place, we couldn't turn down Dubai because of the trade between us. Also I believe they will invest in other part of the economy unlike bollore who would only focus on the port only.
We learning the art of negotiating and interest.

We shall see in the upcoming years
Re: Revising the berbera DP port deal
an investment of up to $442 million is planned to expand the port infrastructure, UAE 65% will be owning and the rest for somaliland and hear 15% for ethiopian so that is why they bought ships to guard their profits, so becareful when dealing with these abyssinia.
Re: Revising the berbera DP port deal
the architector of the deal ( Djibouti businessman Abourahman Boreh ) and how it has to come in the hands of somaliland quite a nice story to tell.

Re: Revising the berbera DP port deal
It's done deal let's just wait , We are not stupid there is clear terms and conditions in this deal. Dp will build new terminal in one year. After we get some infrastructure we can kick them out if they don't generate more revenues. For God's sake we are not some normal Country who have to obey international laws, we are like a well organized Rebels who can break any deal any time, nothing is guaranteed from our side. But we have to be honest with the Arabs as long as they are boosting our capacity . If they fail to generate more revenues we can take back our property.

One of the benefits of being unrecognised is that you have no international obligations, nor are we bound by internation law or membership to international organisaions like WTO . We can tell them to fuck off with little consequences, if they dont deliver.theyuusuf143 wrote:It's done deal let's just wait , We are not stupid there is clear terms and conditions in this deal.
