my DNA shock + theory (23andme.com)

a while ago, i took the 23andme dna test and i was pleasantly surprised. officially, i'm from a Bravanese subclan and my mother is ethnic Somali, Daarood. initially, i thought i would have significant arab dna, not because i want to be arab but because that's the commonly held belief.

well, when my results came back about a month ago, they showed that i'm 96.7% east african but more importantly, that i have the predominantly Somali e-v32 haplogroup. my maternal haplogroup is L3f1a and most Somalis share that same maternal haplogroup as well.

even though my arab and european ancestry is negligible, when i look at my autosomes, it shows that i have some recent arab and southern european dna.

so, my theory is that i'm either an ethnic Somali Tunni (d&m) and my ancestors were brought into the bravanese subclan i belong to since they heavily intermarry with them or one of my recent arab ancestors married into the Tunni clan. but nonetheless, i'm 96.7% ethnic Somali, that's basically pure Somali. i'm as pure as it gets.

if my results came back showing i'm 97% Somali, imagine the people that believe in fairytales that they're arab.

i encourage all of you to take this dna test and if they come back similar to mine, then, be proud of our Somali heritage. stop claiming to be arab unless your results say you are. let's be proud of who we are.

That's a fraud right there! Ask for a refund! Imagine going up to your parents and telling them: "mom, and dad dna resultkii yemen inaan ahay wuu cadeen waye". <---The absolute horror @ the parents faces mixed with unwillingness to accept the result will make them utter something along the lines of: "inaad somali tahay baad ku buxisay registration, marka waxba dnagii lama baarin"

Post the results sxb, I have a Reer Xamar friend and he told me, his clan has Jareer and other groups from the south they obserbed, so there are 3 Categories, Jareer & other who claim them, The real Arab or Persians, and mixed ones. The Reer Barawe are the same. So you might be Ajuraan, Digil, tuni, mixed with Reer Barawe who I think have Portuguese, Persian, Bajuun.

you could be tunni...there are cad cad reer xamar and dark reer xamar who have native origin. reer barawe means every one in the town and this place belonged to the cushitic speaking tunni originally

What does that do to your psychology? U always praise "Bantu" people and play as an activist for their cause. (u and that annoying inaadi character) I MEAN, u look like bantu in your adoon looks. You say your father hails from the Bravanese people, and at the same time u say the result show you are more like your mother than your fathers ancestors. (Which is not a surprise-the Y Chromosome of mothers usually tend to drive these DNA study) According to Wikipedia--the Bravanese people are people of Barawo--Yemeni, Omani, Somali etc etc etc .

So I am kinda confused. U look like adoon bantu--yet your result show u r 96% Somali. Bravo to you, but ---u look Bantu---can u really be "delighted' with the result?

One other glaring possibility is that your mother or grandmother from the father side or that side of the family was banged by pure Somali.
