Are Somali men abusive
Are Somali men as innocent as they seem? or are they supposedly the same as the ajnabis our hooyos warned us about. Anyway, recently found out that my aunt who has been with her husband for 11 years has been physically abused by her husband for the longest. She also has 5 boys with him. It came as quite a shock to me as he is the 'religious' type and quite awkward. Is this a new thing or are Somali men in fact abusive

Does occasional light flogging for disciplinary purposes constitute abuse?

Well for starters. Somali men are not a monolith, we are various individuals with different personalities , identities and circumstances. Whether a man is abusive or not depends on what type of person he is and the circumstances that surrounds his relationship.Amalh21 wrote: Mon Dec 19, 2016 10:00 am Are Somali men as innocent as they seem? or are they supposedly the same as the ajnabis our hooyos warned us about. Secondly if you are asking if there is a cultural driver for abusiveness. There is no such identified driver especially if you live in the diaspora. Back home there might be a sociological driver like a coping mechanism due to living in poverty.
