This black, white thing is not real. We have no real connection to other Africans other than continent and sometimes skin colour except for Eritreans, Ethiopians, Berbers, ethnic Beja of Sudan and ancient Egyptian people who can still be found in the south of Egypt near Sudanese border. If we are going by scientific racial distribution then we are in the Hamitic race and we have never ever been part of the Negroid race. Some people seem not to understand the concept of race, it is not about which skin tone you have but what features and DNA you have. And Somalis, Ethiopians, Eritreans etc dont share the same DNA as Negroid Africans a.k.a Bantu and Khoisan speaking people. This white and black racial thing comes from the US and places like South Africa, never in history has Somalis been grouped with other Africans like Bantu until today because African Americans want to claim everyone in Africa. If race was about skin tone then southern Indians, Bangladeshis and southern Pakistanis would be considered black, as well as many groups in Indonesia etc. To me honestly its all ridiculous because if there is a race it is the human race and not black, white or Hamitic etc. I identify only with Somali because that is what I am, I speak Somali, my culture is Somali, even my name is Somali unlike many Somalis of today who have Arab names. How can you connect with people based on skin tone and continent, doesn't make sense. Somalis have also throughout history always been different and segregated themselves from other Africans, an example is how we have enslaved Bantus, and why we still use terms like Jar**r and Madow. When I was in Somalia when I was young I even asked why some people had maids that looked different from Somalis and they would call them "Wasakh" people a.k.a dirty people. This is not from any European culture or "white" culture as you would probably call them all because it existed long before heavy European contact. So Somalis are definitely not Negroid if we are being scientific and the race thing with calling everyone black is ridiculous, it just groups us all together and since there are more of them we will most probably be very influenced by their foreign ways, even today you see young Somalis aspiring to be trash like African American rappers instead of African Americans who have made a good life, are educated etc. Its not a white or black race that exists because then Chinese people would be white since their skin is mostly pale and white, Arabs would be white, and what would brown Indians be? Brown people of the Brown race? Lol. Go educate yourselves about races and stop following American trends when your own people and real culture doesnt even call themselves Madow people. Somalis are even seen by other black people as non-black and it is so pitiful to see them claim Black. In the media when Somalis die by police or anything you won't really see these BlackLivesMatter rallies, not even by Somalis themselves. Look at how Somalis are being slaughetered in South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, any African country you name it, they dont give a shit about Somalis so stop sucking up to them.
