So Khaatumo wants to have the constitution changed in order to accommodate the absorption of Khaatumo into Somaliland.

One option they want to see is a federal Somaliland Republic. I am not sure what this means but I am assuming clan based federalism. Isaaq, Harti and Dir (Gadabursi+Issa).

Or the Federalism could be based on regions, i.e. Sool, Sanaag and Togdheer vs Maroodijex, Saahil and Awdal.

Federalism Is not gonna work in Somaliland. Our resources are meager at the moment So we have to centralize every thing. I don't think a federal state in the east can cover the cost of its expenses, galaydh couldn't even sustain his body guards khat do you think his administration can provide some health care , security and education. Lool let's be realistic guys. The whole So called Somaliland depends on Berbera hargeisa to wajaale corridor. The rest of the country can't even pay their running cost.

There is no such thing called isaaq in SL power sharing. I am baffled by isaaqs equating the entire isaaq with a small daarood sub clan like the dhulos. Stop embaressing us qoladiina reer Hargaysa.

I agree we shouldn't constitutionalise our politics include clanism. That is just a recipe for disaster and division.

But I think if we go back to the two regions during the British rule, that is in option. Hargeisa and Burco ruling two states within Somaliland Republic. And giving the Dhulous head of Burco state and Gadabursi head of Hargeisa state, while Isaaqs are head of Somaliland Republic.

gues what, I like when people make us one clan. It only makes the one and only. It's the phuking reason we are stronger than most other Somalis. I prefer to be referred ass isaaq or Dir than habarjeclo.

Not sure this is going to work. I mean I understand including Hartis particularly Dhulbahante and giving them their fair share, but wouldn't it make sense if they came as Harti or Dhulos rather then demand a federal state called Khatumo within Somaliland?

That would mean, we should also create Awdaland, Red Sea state, Hawd land, daadmadheedland etc

Surely it hasn't worked in Somalia.

Let's just stick to granting seats proportioned to clans numbers.

That would suffice in short term until we can gain enough trust within each other and ditch this whole clan based system
