The consolidation of the Syrian army's gains and a light toward the end of the war is not in Israel's interests.

Fah, you're siding with the enemies of your government and its friends. The constitution obliges you to support and side with your government and its friends. How do you plead?

Fah is siding on the side of justice , isnt this more important?
As usual the Isrealis are denying losing the plane, one is reported to have crashed in jordan, the other damaged.
In december the supposed isreali plane crashed on isreali soil and the pilot was able to bail out, ofcourse with the obligatory denial by Isreal.
The Syrians Used the old S200 missile system from the 70's, but this is confusing when you realize that its not the same weapons system.
The missile carrier looks identical from a distance but this hides all the upgrades that were done making it an entirely new system.
The actual missiles are more compact and the radar and electronics are fully digital with the latest off the shelf components thanks to commercially available components from japan and taiwan.
This means that unlike its namesake used by the egyptians in 1973, this is more resistant to jamming, and much more capable and it cost peanuts to upgrade because it shares some of the stuff inside your iphone and router.
The other thing that is usually overlooked by journalists is secure datalink technology.
The Isreali planes are painted by S-300 radars on Russian Ships in latakia and the S-400 in Humeiem base , as soon as they take off deep inside isreals border all the way into syria.
The datalink allows S-300s and S-400 radars operated by the Russians to guide Syrian missiles covertly, allowing them to ambush the isrealis.
This is all due to Isreali arrogance , next time they will use standard operating procedures which have dedicated electronic warfare planes, and Suppression of Air defence (SEAD) aircraft in the package.
This level of jamming will not stop S-300/S-400 systems from targeting and hitting them, but it stops the datalink that allows Syrians with their older systems to turn off their radars and sneak in some missiles in an ambush.
and yes the isrealis will continue probing and poking, until they get their fingers burnt, they cannot help it.
The syrian conflict is terrible due to the loss of lives and destruction,
but for all the observers it is scary and exciting from a technological, and tactical point of view.
It raises allot of interesting implications and any new war fought in the future will look more like Syria 2012-2017 than the Gulf War1.
The same with the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
Isreali millitary analysts are shitting their pants this is always brings a smile to my face.

Re: Israel strikes inside Syria; Syrian Army responds with Anti-Air Defense Systems
There are 4 sources that tell conflicting stories.
The official Syrian government, official Russian news agency, mainstream Western media and alternate media.
It depends on who trust.
For me mainstream Western media is last on the list.
I trust isreali sources that are targeted for local consumption before BBC, cnn etc.
They tend to be more mature, less childish and thier lies are more sophisticated.

Re: Israel strikes inside Syria; Syrian Army responds with Anti-Air Defense Systems
Typical bluster, they are smarting over this embarrassment but they will poke again, it's what they do.
But they should be wary because Syria is used as a tested and training ground for the Russians and even the Chinese have a low key presence for the same reasons.
I'd expect export grade electronic warfare equipment is present with both Russian and Syrian personnel to see what the older equipment will do with the latest countermeasures the West has to offer.
The latest stuff will not be used.
This will be interesting.
