The current Somali conflict.

I'm confused with what is going on in Somalia? So, there was the civil war, tribalism and the conflict that came with that, then there was the war with the Ethiopian invasion and the Islamic courts era, then somewhere in between there were warlords- All that I understood. However, now, i'm confused- What do Alshabaab want? Are they supporting specific tribal interest? Are they even Somali or foreigners? If they are Somali why are they killing their own people? Why have the tribal communities not stopped them and their destruction.
I hope some of you could explain little bit about why there is still conflict in Somalia and what is the current conflict about?

they are terrorists who are doing ethiopian work to de-stabilize the country funded through isaaq Sl.simple.

there is very little conflict,clans no longer fight it is just politics and some terrorists trying to disturb the overall peace.

Thank you for your quick response. I wonder why the tribal elders have not done anything about these people. For all the foreigners making mischief in our lands, why can't we get rid of them. All Somali tribes/clans must come together and fight them. Ina Habel should not be allowed to live peacefully when he/she is a member for said group. I just don't understand why it is so hard to create peace still in Somalia.

Maybe farmaajo will create a strong alliance with all clans expect idoors they are the one who fund the terrorist and most recruiters are sheikhs from hargeisa.

There will be peacr in the few coming years because al shabaab don't control major towns like kismaayo or mogadishu. We just need to eradict the few remaining terrorist
