Props to Somalians over Djiboutians

Post by Jabuutawi »

In music.

Y'all know how to put it down. Where is the next party?

Better lyrics, better music. Watching Djibouti singers/TV is North Korea of Africa. Same BS.

I discovered these songs. The beats are dope, the lyrics are even doper.

Somaliland makes the best music in terms of lyrics, laxaan (composition/composing).

Lagu ma gadho. They can turn what is shyt singer in Djibouti or Mogadishu into a sensational pop star over night.

Right now the hottest laxaan makers are Abdihani Hashi and BK.

Music Furinle and Karaama.

The best song writer is probably abwaan Weedhsame.

Yo, check out this video. I reached deep into the vault. Damn, Somalia before jilbabs and AlShabab was full of beautiful people.

This video rings true today as well. Many Faraxs getting kicked to the curb...lol.

He went to Canada and was back home:

I disagree with Karaama fam. I rank abdiwahab Antar Naaji higher. Furinle and Abdiwahab Antar naaji.

My neighbour Ahmed saalax qasim is the somali music legend. He retired tho

Cringeworthy choices. Most modern Somali songs are low quality type of music and have little substance. They are repetitive, have limited Somali vocabulary and accompanied by unconvincing acting videos. Even Aar Maanta or BK are trying to be creative but most singers just churn out dozens of boring music without breaks.

I concur.

That shit is as stale as last week's bread.

Until recently, one would assume they all had the same producer cos all the songs had the same 'Dirin' 'Dirin' beat.
