maya walaalo ilahey baa mahdle I have never been to a refugee camp.
Just wanted to see the comments here.
Somalis have been using it to stereotype Ogadens making a mockery of their plight, suffering and struggles against povertt led by displacement during the 1977 war.
Today Somalia has been badly hit by drought and everyone including myself is concerned and feel empathy towards their suffering. So its about not being color blind or stooping low. Somalia finds itself in a never ending viscious cycle is because they neglected their brothers and sisters suffering in the Ogaden during their opulent years.

Canned poison. I can't fathom why any parent would give their children that.

We need to learn how to make caana boodhe/boore. In every rainy season, Somalis have plenty of milk available to them. However, when drought hits, people are dying due to lack of food. If, during the rainy season, Somalis can turn the plenty of milk from camel, cows, and goats into a milk flour, many of the nutrition issues that Somalis face can be fastly reduced.
If one looks at the Yogurt that is consumed in the west, it is basically the ciir (cultured buttermilk), combined with fruits, that we had plenty in Somalia during the rainy season. I remember Somali nomads dumping ciir to the ground during the rainy season because it was too many and they needed to empty their haamo (containers used to make cultured buttermilk) in order to make room for the fresh milk. And if they knew a way to conserve it, they could resold them or re-use them during the drought.
Here we're a country with the largest number of camels in the world; plenty of sheep, goats, and cows; with endless seasonal rivers; yet for every drought season, we need hand-outs from the rest of world. This is pretty embarrassing.

Same with formula, I don't know why some moms who are lactating still choose to feed their babies that powder crap.
Also breast milk kinda taste and smell like caano boro
