I don't know too much about the money circulation in Somalia (I'm assuming many of the diaspora/elites only use the dollars), but in another step getting back sovereignty....Somalia will print first real banknotes in 25 years and the IMF will help. These will be totally new banknotes with anti-counterfeit tech

The IMF also says Somalia's creditors are now interested developing a plan with the new Somali government for DEBT RELIEF (not that anyone was asking us to pay back debts anytime soon tbh)

This is a good step.

Loool IMF wherever these guys are involved its a total disaster for the poor countries.

what's the point, those new banknotes will be counterfeited as usual. many pple in p/land and xamar have their own high tech printing presses.

a better solution would be to go digital.

I think the historical ruins of Seylac, one of the oldest settlements of Somalia should be in the back of one of the notes. Other suggestions could be the two rivers of Jubba river and Shabeele river or shimbiris mountain.

No faces of previous presidents (Adan Cade, Sharmaarke and Jaalle Siyaad) should be on the currency.
