I believe the oil is being dug up in nagnaqijo, togdheer. I know one of the main guys who brought the oil companies. He offered me a job, but I'm not ready to move back to Somaliland permanently yet. Still got a few more years to make money in the U.K.
But me personally knowing the guy he seems serious and wants to finish off what he has started. I advise anyone from burco and its surrounding areas to buy land, I mean hectares in the country side. Because if they find oil in your land. Jackpot. $$$

Country side land ownership is illegal if the land is not classified as "farm land" . Any one who occupies an empty land near the oil fields will deal with a hell of bullets.Museyusuf wrote: Sun Mar 26, 2017 7:35 pm I believe the oil is being dug up in nagnaqijo, togdheer. It doesn't matter if you own the farm, the resources beneath the earth belong to the state, not you. You will get damages for i.e. digging up your land, road running through you farm etc. But that is about it.
The district gets a cut, the region gets a cut, but the majority go into the coffers of the state.
