Those are used to protect Russian soldiers and assets in Latakia, Tartus, Damascus...to deter Turkey

The Syrians shot down an Israeli jet with S-200 not too long ago.

The Russians won't stop Israel targeting Hezbollah west of Damascus. Netanyahu and Putin basically made that deal last year

Bashar Assad is all bark and no bite, what happened to those shiny new S-300 SAMs the Syrians recieved from Russia? The Shia militia-hordes are either too incompetent to use it or Assad is a puppet and can do nothing unless Putin lets him.
