Toronto is turning into a slaughterhouse for young Somalis regardless of whether or not they're involved in gangs. Too many armed xayawaans walking around killing people with impunity.

That's the unfortunate part. Killers shouldn't be rewarded with a one-way ticket to the motherland.SuldaanMaplesyrup wrote: Sun Apr 16, 2017 5:48 am Because they do get away. Either no one talks and the case goes cold; or if they feel the cops are on to them, their parents will cut them a one way ticket back home.
Somalis in Toronto who didn't leave the hood yet have unfortunately screwed themselves over now that the cost of housing is soaring to the point that it's beyond reach to middle-class people, let alone poor Somalis. I would advise families with young boys to leave the city altogether.
Renting in a decent neighbourhood is still very expensive in the GTA. I doubt many Somali families in Toronto can now afford much more than community housing/rough neighbourhoods, and as a result innocent people are being targeted.Sophisticate wrote: Sun Apr 16, 2017 6:00 amThat's the unfortunate part. The valuation of homes is through the roof. You have shack-sized bungalows selling for 1.1 million. If one is looking for some cash flow - look into American real estate. The thing is most Somalis aren't interested, due to "Riba". Anyway, I think it's better to pay a little extra than to live in affordable housing. There is a slight misconception, one does not need to actually buy property in Toronto in order to live in a safe neighborhood. I'm just saying being in the city is a tad more convenient than living in the periphery.
