I was just reading a report prepared for the Joint Chief of Staff in Pentagon. You can see from this document the huge effort undertaken by the UN and certain countries i.e. Egypt to deploy UN/US troops in Somaliland.

Both Tuur and Egal said if the UN deployed troops in Somaliland, it would mean war. So the US State Department advised against deployment which President Bush accepted.

It is not about fighting strength. It is against International law to deploy troops to foreign land when leaders do not request it. Somaliland leaders didn't want any troops from such countries and say if Egypt went ahead and deployed and fight broke, it wouldn't be a good look in the international arena

Also Habar Gedir Alone fucked up US marines, the Egyptian onion breath aren't match for Somalis. Somalis are confident, because war is what we do best .
