On Google search:
banaadir has 2,080,000 results
benaadir has 24,800 results

Benadir is the Anglicized or Italicized word of Banaadir. If we go by TheblueNwhite's logic, then it's Mogadiscio not Muqdisho.

I would honestly spell it benaadir, but perhaps my written Somali is not up to par with the professional journalist, however one must always refer back to the kacaan era in these times NOT the colonial era.

indeed we do, this does not take away from the sacrifices our country men made up and down the country during the colonial era, but it is a fact that somali truly joined the international community as a sovereign entity and a regional power during the kacaan era, im sure many of your parents who lived in mogadishu took part in literacy campaigns in t he poor regions which saw to it that Somali would be the official and most dominant language in the country, the kacaan build the foundation for a strong united somalia.
