Somaliland elections

Post by guulside »

now that the elections are very close, i think it will not be very interesting as anticipitated.
too much delays, frustrations, mistrust of the election commision, and misinformation has happened.
as the results showed not many ppl registered to vote esp youth cuz they were told the iris scan will be used to send em back if they tahriib to europe! nice try somalia! lol.

anyway prez silanyo has spoken finally, thank god! maybe they discovered aderall suddenly.
the prez guaranteed the elections will happen on time and urged the ppl to "vote dont boo!"
so the voting cards will be distributed and the parties are preparing to buy the winning votes for $5 each.

do yall think the draught afflicted families, youth hooked on khat will refuse money?
such is sad reality and while im bit optimistic everything about sland i still believe whoever wins will at least change things, but in the long run this will create environment of corruption, lack of transparency and accountablity.

that persona non grata minister the new prez will appoint will not be accountable to anyone cuz he was picked without merit and credentials. such minister thinks hes above legitimately elected xildhibaan and will not answer to him.
now thats only one minister but when we have 70 ministers and their deputies with such mentality how we can so naively think the "jamhuuriyada barakaysan" will move forward and develop into a middle income country in 2020 as envisaged in the "national development plan 2020"?
how can such gov represent our interests?

i know many critics will be blindsided when their "TOL" gets some favourable kickbacks.

whatever happens, i hope at least we get an honest person at the finance, health and education ministry and a competent, creative mayor for the capital.
the rest we can tolerate their racket and shit.

rant over.
