Inter-qabiil Marriage

What are your thoughts on inter-qabiil marriage?

There's this girl I've known since secondary school. A very pretty, light skinned, smart and good girl. We talk sometimes on facebook and going from her facebook timeline, she seems ready to settle down and get married. So what's the problem you might ask? Well... she's mj. As you know I'm not a qabilist, just the other day some cadcad guy was insulting me in a maqaayad and I was completely oblivious to it. I didn't realise it but my isaaq friend was defending me. That's how unqabilist I am. But I'm not sure how my family will react. As far as I know there isn't a single mj in the extended family. Infact, the furthest removed from us would be my aunty who married an abgaal on her second marriage. Do HG-MJ marriages work or are they destined for failure.

Inter qabiil marriage is very common. It usually takes place between your clan and the clans you neighbour with. I am Reer Bicidyahan, and so I have a of relatives from Marehan and Dhulbahante, and some from Leelkase and Cumar Maxmuud. Unsurpringly through my dhulbhanate grandmothers I can even find Habar Yoonis (isaaq) ancestors.

Today you can find people of qabiils every major city in Somalia so you will see people marrying from clans that don't live anywhere near their clan. Thanks to this phenomenon I even have Hawiye cousins. They are not HG however.
