Ethiopia: Border clash leaves 15 injured
ESAT News (May 8, 2017)
A border clash between the Afar and Amhara last week in Hadar, 15 kms from Bati, left at least 15 people injured from both sides, according to ESAT’s sources.
The sources also said tensions remained high and there is fear that another clash could erupt any time. Federal Forces in the area did not intervene to calm the situation, the sources said.
Residents also told ESAT that officials from both sides met last month to resolve the border issue but to no avail. Observers repeatedly accuse the regime of instigating ethnic conflicts to sustain its divide and rule policies.
Border conflicts between communities in various parts of the country have been the cause of loss of lives and displacement in recent years.
Clashes between the Somali and Oromo communities in southeastern Ethiopian left at least 200 dead. Oromo political parties and rights groups blamed the Liyou Police of the Somali region for inciting the violence and perpetrating the killings.

I hope the Oromo do not get away with gobbling up more land.

1. Nobody has conquered more land in east Africa, on an ethnicity basis, than the Somali.abdikarim86 wrote: Sun May 14, 2017 7:38 am I hope the Oromo do not get away with gobbling up more land.

Oromo derives from Ilma orma, 'sons of men'', and our language Afaan oromo is ''the language of men,'' usually (referring to brave men).PrinceNugaalHawd wrote: Sun May 14, 2017 7:34 am Let them fight, Somali & Oromo should support the Afar.

There is also a theory, which is interesting, that says Oromo is a son of a man named Omer who came from Arabia and settled in Berbera and eventually fathered the first Oromos.
As far as Boran, they are angafa, or the elder clan or group in oromo culture. they still preserved and practice the oromo religion, pure culture, and so on. many are muslims, as well, of course.

As far as Galla, that's when things get complicated. There are many, many, different theories regarding the origin of this term. A few are:
When the Prophet sent missionaries to preach Islam to a group of Oromos, the chief of that clan said no, qalla-say no, galla=so the prophet, ALLEGEDELY, said okay let their rejection be their name.
Galana, a river in gurage land, is allegedely where the Oromo expansion aka the Oromo re-conquest of their lost lands, started in the 16th century.
Gala=camel, in both the oromo and somali language (if i am not mistaken). The Oromo, prior to being annexed by abyssinia (by force in some places, while others submitted and even participated), were nomads like the somali and afar.

Are all zoomalilanders as retarded as you?
It was a conflict between amhara and afars, nothing to do with Oromo.

My bad. But i was referring to east africa, or the horn in particular. Do bantus in the horn of Africa inhabit more land than the Somali?
And i very much doubt there's 25 million Somalis, please show me how that is.
Nothing wrong with your land mass, but if a conqueror complains about being conquered, is it not ironic?

500,000 in northern kenya
Rest in Somalia and Djibouti
It only makes sense i mean if Somalis were under that number how would they be able to control all that land? Whole regions would be unpopulated

Re: Afar-Amhara border dispute leaves several dead
We were conquered by 3 European powers, our land divided in 5, and the Amxaara, Tigre & Oromo Coalition attacked us, and later were rewarded with our land & ppl, Kenya got a whole region of ours. How are we. Complaining I know we didn't live there sometime ago, but we are also from the Horn.Waachis wrote: Sun May 14, 2017 6:47 pmYes brother you're right, i forgot about them.PanSomaliNationalist wrote: Sun May 14, 2017 5:54 pmNigga do you know who bantus areWaachis wrote: Sun May 14, 2017 11:56 am
