Give credit to president faarmajo
I got to admit he has shown resolve in the face against biggest wealthiest largest country and also the most connected countries in middle East uae and Saudi Arabia.
He did the right thing let's hope we fair better and Qatar will finally will broker a genuine peace in somalia.

Guys, if Saudis stop Somali livestock from Saudi markets, it'll be economically devastating for Somali nomads and Somali businessmen and women who export this livestock to Saudi Arabia.
It is good to have a pride and show neutrality, but if the cost outweighs the benefits, sometimes, you may want to swallow the pride. I hope and pray Somalis nomads are not affected by this crisis between rich people.

Re: Give credit to president faarmajo
Saudi banned Somali livestocks for several years. It was just lifted back recently, and then banned again. Its like a seasonal thing for them. So if the Saudi market closes it is not gonna be the end of the Somali livestock trade, this is nothing new. Somalis survived many years of Saudi ban. Matter of fact, the way Somali people trade their livestock is actually not even profitable. We lose out many money out of selling our living livestock. Somalia needs to diversify its livestock trade, by introducing meat factories, leather making factories and so on. Selling the meat and leather is more profitable for Somalia but also it brings regulation to our living livestocks. We can't keep selling our livestocks just like that, we are losing out big time.gegiroor wrote: Mon Jun 12, 2017 10:24 pm Guys, if Saudis stop Somali livestock from Saudi markets, it'll be economically devastating for Somali nomads and Somali businessmen and women who export this livestock to Saudi Arabia.

Either way, I agree with the Somali government. We should be neutral, and take no sides. This is nothing to do with pride, but more to do with diplomacy and politics. The new government does not want to sabotage its image as having a short-vision like the previous Somali governments. This government is being bold and decisive, it wants to show the rest of the world that Somalia means business and real business.
