ethiopians habasha and oromo are so like us but then again so different
i frequently visit addis ababa for business trips. and what i notice is we somalis have so much in common with them. in terms of looks customs food canjeelo. its so strange to see somali looking people that are not Muslim and the clothes they wear so different. we are so different in terms of culture when i am in addis it looks like i am in a somali town. but then again when u look around its so different. dad aad isku eegtihin hadana sida u kala fogtihin. they are so polite decent . we somalis are so rude hard headed violant. my base is in hargeysa where i live the past 4 years now. when i am back in hargeysa people are so rude talk so agressive. i think maybe somalilanders are a bit to harsh in comparison with other somalis. who are less agressive in their tone. u will never see habashi is haysta talking loud. laakin somalida talks so loud think they know everything in africa the ethiopians are the closest to us. yet we are so different in so many levels. some times i wonder how would somalis be if we were not muslim. would we be less honorable would we be like them the ethiopians

Sxb the reason for the differences are clear and has nothing to do with religious beliefs but everything to do with the Camels. Ethiopians Habashas and the Oromo alike as well as other Ethiopians (offcaurse except for the Somali regional state and the Afar) are Cattle herding civilizations as opposed to the Camel Led uncivilised Somalis.
The Ethiopians through cattle herding have acquired and learned many things that have enhanced their community cohesions and in general their communities' welfare as whole. Some of the lessons they have learned from the cows include:
1. The Fact that the first step isn’t always easy, but the reward is worth it.
2. To Be cautious, but curious and open to learning new things.
3. To Be productive. The only free ride in life is to the sale yard.
4. Knowing the importance of Finding friends that you know you’ll always be able to lean on.
5. To adopt an attitude of patience.
6. The fact that When you love others, they will love you back.
And last but Not least they've learned that If you’re being rude, you’re going to be kicked.
Now compare and contrast the above to the attributes and behaviour Camel led Somalis have learned and acquired from following Camels.
It is well known fact that Camels are bad-tempered and untrustworthy animals capable of inflicting a vicious slashing bite. They can also spit a foul smelling 'soup' of regurgitated food at anyone. They are sneaky (like when they want to untie themselves and slip away while you’re asleep), and are cunning as well (always testing your boundaries to see what they can get away with). A camel a camel would sometimes even reject it’s calf and refuses to nurse it (would never happen with a cow).
And these are the attitudes and behaviours that have been acquired by the Somali as a result of Geel Raac, which accounts for the reasons why we somalis are so rude, hard headed and violant.

That's very strange indeed, dad Somali u eg hadana sidii gaalada u dhaqmaya... I wouldn't be able to adjust to that..
Wealth combined with ignorance makes people rude, loud and offensive. Somalis are much wealthier than the average xabash.. Xabashidu have always been extremely poor which translates to humbleness in most cases..
Like reer konfuurta somalia they are poorer per capita than the northerns since Adam hence they are more humble less loud and are generally more giving people.. Extreme Wealth in time also creates humbleness,

Re: ethiopians habasha and oromo are so like us but then again so different
Simple, the answer is Perception
They think of themselves as a one of the oldest people on the planet with traditions and scriptures that go back millennia. Their disposition is a quiet confidence because they know who they are or you know.. think they know. Look at the british, their culture is much younger than the Ethiopians but they carry themselves like conquerors of noble savages and bringers of civilization (white man's burden blah blah).
Somalis on the other hand are a lost cause, a mentally conquered people who think they are the progeny of arabs and have never been anything more than nomadic herders who occasionally fight among themselves for livestock and land--this is all a false perception of course. But this is how you perceive yourself and as long as that's the case you will be seen as lesser (and your behaviour will reflect that) than those who think they come from kings and conquerors.

I am friends with many oromos and habasha, I get along with every group of people but one thing I admire about them is how they keep a low profile unlike us who cant seem to stay out of the spot light. smh

You cant blame religion on our differences. I believe a large oromo population are muslims yet they are still polite. I think Somalis are deeply steeped in arab culture. That camel rearing --desert unsophisticated mess that define them. U would think Islam will civilize them, but it has not.
