Will Ethiopia tolerate a rising strong Somali state next door?
As the Somali state begins to stand on it's two feet, the question arises whether Ethiopia will allow or tolerate the development of a strong Somali state. By Ethiopia I mean the current TPLF led.
The strategy laid down by Meles, executed by myriad of self driven political opportunist was one of seeding division and flaming the already volatile Somali tribal feuds since the fall of the Somali state in 91.
However, with the death of Meles, things have changed. Ethiopia itself is mired by deep seated divisions . It's not clear whether Ethiopia has devoted or is even able to give the same attention/concentration it once did. It appears the current TPLF lead Ethiopia is busy with trying to appease it's Large Oromo/Ahmara population to keep the current order of things.
The question remains whether TPLF led Ethiopia will attempt to sabotage or tolerate a rising Strong Somali state next door.
Can the two live side by side or does the rise of one mean increased instability in the other? What role will regional actors like Somaliland or Puntland play.
These are questions whose answers only time will tell.

What imaginary dream is this? Somalia has no chance and will not account to anything ever.

With the One Belt One Road Initiative, the whole region will come together and become the East Hub for the entire continent. It will be sad if this internal Ethiopian struggle f**ks things up before we get there. It's probably time for the TPLF to evolve as the liberation and struggle period is over. The whole world is watching and a lot things are riding on their decision to open up, if they don't, everyone will lose. Somalia ain't got no enemy but itself, one thing is for sure, if that Chinese initiative comes knocking, the Somalis will tippy toe like chinamen to rebuild the country.

Ethiopia is a trojan horse. I know there are many aidstopia bootlickers in this forum but that's about to be a fragmented nation with varying interest groups trynna dominant one another. It's too big and to divided too truly prosper and it knows this. It's time has past and with all the funding and money they've been funneled all these years by being africa's top aid recipient they have little to show for. They are still facing starvation, crippling poverty, political regression and regular displacement of citizens out of their lands. It's about to all come to a head and Somalis should bide their time and strike them when they are down. Somalis divided into small sovereign nation states will be the leaders of the East. First the darood and their mules need to get it together let go of a somaliweyn fantasy and get in formation like Somaliland. Djibouti needs to fall in line and stop hating from outside the club and start supporting Somaliland. The world is ours IF we want it.

tbh the tigrays are nicer to Somalis than the Amhara niggers
In fact some sources say TPLF didn't want to invade Somalia but was threatened with civil war by the US
With that being said everytime Somalia formed a functioning state they invaded Ethiopia
They invaded democracy era, kacaan era and even ICU era there was plans of invading

Oh allah I beg of you
may you please give Ethiopian government officials the pneumonic plauge
may they all eventually get slaughtered by an mudug geeljire
may they all get a flesh eating disease where they get their eyes eaten by parasites
When they have intercourse with their partners may they blow up into pieces
May they get an uncontrollable disease where they constantly suck random mens dikk on the street
May their daughters have uncontrollable orgasm rendering them the number 1 prostitutes of the world making Ethiopia an tourist destination for billions of men
Re: Will Ethiopia tolerate a rising strong Somali state next door?
the main reason the TPLF initially invaded Somalia, was to ensure that the OLF wasn't based there and able to threaten their grip on power.
Somalia=usual home of anti-ethiopian forces, from tplf, to eplf, to olf.
so tplf sees weakening somalia as part of its strategy of keeping all armed opposition forces weak.

It first has to exist as a real country before it can threaten anyone.original dervish wrote: Sun Jul 02, 2017 2:23 am Somalia is many decades from beginning to challenge Ethiopia.

The problem is whoever replaces our current stock needs to put them all on re-education camps or just kill them all.
I was an optimist till I met them face to face, they are all xoolo with noone even thinking about the people or country.
They are entertaining though I had dinner with your ghalaydh, waraabe and another one in dubai last month. It seems they are all buddies and no matter what Qabiil or party they are united in screwing everyonee and making a buck.
