Gurey25 Come in..

Post by TheGrumpyGeeljire »

Who do you think will reach Deir-ez-zor first? The Kurds have been advancing east along the Euphrates towards Deir-ez-zor from Raqqah. They also have positions North of Deir-ez-zor. Further to the South, the Syrian Army and its allies are trying to advance through the Syrian desert along the Tadmur (Palmyra)-Deir-ezzor highway.

What is the strategic value of Deir-ez-zor and lets say, the American proxies reach the city first. How will they deal with the 10, 000 Syrian troops there?

The U.S. had trained some Syrian mercenaries at Tanf and had planned to march those north towards Deir Ezzor. As that route is now blocked some of the trained mercenaries were recently transferred by air to Shadadi base in north-east Syria where they will have to fight under Kurdish command. Others have refused to move north. Jaysh Maghawir al-Thawra, previously called the New Syrian Army, is mostly made up of local men who probably do not want to leave their nearby families and do not want to come under Kurdish leadership. The U.S. should send them home and leave the area.

Today a new two-pronged move against the ISIS siege on Deir Ezzor was started. Syrian army forces and its allies moved east from their Palmyra positions and south-east from their positions south of Raqqa. An additional move against Deir Ezzor may come from the Syrian forces further south-east near the Iraqi border. The Iraq air force has recently flown attacks against ISIS position in the Deir Ezzor areas. This was done in agreement with the Syrian government. That may be a sign that Iraqi forces will join the fight to relief the city with an additional move south-west from their positions near Tal Afar. The U.S. military has for now given up its dream of assaulting and occupying Deir Ezzor with its proxy forces.

I don't think the US deep state will allow Trump (a simple minded, ego-driven old man) to spoil their plans for Syria. If Deir-ezzor is captured by the government, the rest of the Iraqi border that's not controlled by the Kurds will be secured. Then Erdogan and Assad will probably make a deal, to invade the Kurdish areas in exchange for the Turkish government cutting support to militant outfits in Idlib.

And if that happens, the Syrian civil war will be over. It will become a low-level insurgent conflict, similar to that of Turkey's PKK conflict.

This will totally wreck the plans for a greater Israel so I don't think the Zionists who pull the strings in the US will allow such an event to occur.

Expect a major incident in the near future, perhaps a new 'Islamic State' or a 'chemical attack by Assad'.

I think fahs post sums it up.
Let me just add that Dier ez zor is not the main target is the oil and gas fields around it and all over the region. The US plans to create a new puppet state of the SDF and ISIS escappees, the oil fields are there to make it a viable state with its own income.

In my opinion dier ez zor is usefull and but the objectives have already been met,
most oil fields have been captured by the Syrians first.
Deir ez zor and the border will be closed and the americans evicted when the turks destroy the SDF.

The US is to blame for destroying its whole strategic position when they ignored Erdogan their supposed allies. Did they expect him to be a good obedient boy , when they threatened the national interests of Turkey?

The US has no more moves on the chess table other than withdraw, or go full retard and try enforce a no fly zone and shoot down Russian planes.
Their new attempt at another fake chemical attack on civilians is a no starter,
anything new that they do will just a be tantrum of a spoiled child, and irrelevant to the strategic situation.
