Salam Alakium, I hope everyone is doing well; in this session we will take another 4 letters for those who want to study the Arabic alphabet.
Today we will go over the letter خ Khaa and this letter is a connecting letter which means it connects to letters that come after it whether the letter that comes after it is a connecting letter or not and this letter as all connecting letters in the Arabic alphabet has a modified form but since these blog posts are text blogs I can't show you the modified form that can only be written as there is no Arabic keyword that provides a connecting form of letters solely.
So I can only show you in my arabic alphabet course on YouTube. This letter has no English equivalent in the sound it makes it sounds like a 'kh' sound in English which is like a scratchy sound of the throat.
The next letter we will briefly learn today is the letter ث thaa and the sound this letter makes is like a 'th' sound and this is also a connecting letter of the Arabic alphabet which means it also has a modified form.
Now, I want to quiz you and see if you know the concept non-connectors. Please grab and sheet of paper and write for me all 6 of the non-connecting letters and the sound each letter makes. You have 5 minutes, go ahead now. After you are done read on.
Okay, have you done this tiny assignment? I am sure most of you have totally forgot or do not know what the letters are and I could even go as far as to say you can't even remember or know 1 single letter. What a shame, but I am not surprised because it takes a clear learning method for people to learn properly.
Moving on to the lesson, the letter Thaa ث has a modified form as all letters in Arabic have with the exception of 6 non-connecting letters.
The next letter we will talk about today is the letter ك Kaaf and this letter also has a modified form that I can't show you in a blog post. That's why if you ever tried reading the Arabic you would notice that the letters seem different than the standard form you originally saw.
The Kaaf has a sound like the 'K' in English. And is one of the letters that Allah the all Mighty and All Powerful swears by in sura Maryam.
And finally the last letter we will go over is ق Qaaf this letter sound like Kaaf but it's not the same it's a letter considered a heavy letter in Arabic and in Tajweed would also be referred to as a heavy letter. The Qaaf is not like the 'Q' it's more heavier sound than the 'Q' in English and the only way for you to hear the sound and to know is by hearing it for yourself I can't describe the sound via text. You can get detailed and proper lessons if your new and are trying to study the arabic alphabet to begin the process to read and write Arabic texts, no need to sign-up at the mosque- it's all free on my YouTube channel; you can find a link to it here: https://www.quora.com/Where-can-I-study ... c-alphabet
We study the letters out of order to help students learn them naturally and quickly and effectively so as to not force them to memorize them, rather you will learn them naturally while doing the practice assignments that we do together in the course.
