Rich Churches vs Poor Mosques

Asides from the Bahoras and other Shia, why are most mosques well just struggling to keep above water? The big Sunni ones tend to have Petrodollar patronship but the average Sunni mosque is barely getting by. What is preventing them from becoming large mega-mosques that raise millions in revenues something akin to the Lakewood church in Houston which made $77 million last year.

The white supremacist John Osteen of the Lakewood church refused to shelter the victims of hurricane Harvey, so having money and big Churches/Mosques does not mean being devout. The poor mosques used to be places where people came to socialize and help each other now they are a breeding ground for crazy lunatics brainwashed with Wahhabi Theology ready to kill other muslims and no amount of renovation is gonna change that.
