Today I inform you that I have successfully upgraded my seal from Ras to Abbaa Gadaa.

The upgrade was necessary and timely.

The Oromo hurricane is gaining momentum and has all the right ingredients to explode at any time.

There is massive movement of humans in Oromia today. I have not seen such for a very long time in our region.

Tomorrow the Irreecha festival begins in Bishooftu.

Now as far as Irreecha/Irreesa goes, it's usually defined as our Thanksgiving ceremony, essentially it's Oromos thanking Waaqa/God for the bountiful harvest..... Some may see it as a religious, while others see it as cultural. It takes place in the beautiful and green/lush Oromo town/city known as Bishoftu, known as Debre Zayt in Amharic, and the ceremony takes place at the river-bed, known as the Malkaa in Afaan Oromo.
