Be careful when you play the game of land claiming! somalis can lose alot more than they can gain! The correct name is Jijjiga [ጅጅጋ] not Jigijiga/ጅግጅጋ [the Somali corruption of the original Oromo name of the place]. In fact, ALL of what is today Somaliland & most of what is today Ogaden used to be the ancestral land of the Oromo clans & many places & water wells in these regions are mentioned a lot in Oromo folktales, 'once-upon-a-time'/'durii-durii' [teret-teret] stories & oral histories. For example, the name 'Hargeisa' - the capital of Somalialdn & the region around it - is an Afaan Oromo word & it means 'Aloe-vera' - a cactus-looking plant common in the area.
In Afaan Oromo Jijjiga/ጅጅጋ means 'the 'staggered one', after the mountains of 'Kara-mara' whose outlines appear to be put [by the gods] in staggered fashion, where some taller picks are interrupted by flater tops only to be replaced by other taller picks, etc.
Also, the word 'Jijjiga/ጅጅጋ' comes from an Afaan Oromo verb 'jiguu' [to fall] & used to describe a manner in which toddlers or one year-old children try to walk with a mixture of falling & getting up onto their struggling feet until they master the practice of walking steadily.
Of course, it never occurs to arrogant & inebriated 'shrixam Somalis' - backed by banda habesha army that will drop them like a hot potato sooner or later - that Somalis are NOT the only ones to claim land that belongs to others. Oromos or other Ethiopians too could reclaim & re-occupy Somaliland easily.

So, if the entire Somaliland belongs to the Oromo, where did Somalis come from?Samsee wrote: Fri Oct 06, 2017 3:06 pmBe careful when you play the game of land claiming! somalis can lose alot more than they can gain!In fact, ALL of what is today Somaliland & most of what is today Ogaden used to be the ancestral land of the Oromo clans & many places & water wells in these regions are mentioned a lot in Oromo folktales, 'once-upon-a-time'/'durii-durii' [teret-teret] stories & oral histories.

the average oromos do not want those lands. i dont know why some idiots even make posts like that to make us oromos look bad, as if we're land grabbing thieves. we just want out lands back, which are within the ethiopian empire. then later, we can port arrangements with somalis.

addis ababa/finfinne. (btw, we do not want to kick every non oromo out, but we want primary rights over it, plus look at how addis ababa is dependent on oromo farmers, did u know oromo farmers are the reasons addis ababa has food even? and millions of us surround the city on all sides almost? how could we not want it?
and yes, my somali brothers, we want all the disputed lands, that we won legally in the 2004 referendum.
if the oromo cheated, as some claim; bring proof to an impartial court of law, and I for one, would relinquish all claims to those lands.
you see, oromo-somali relations are too complex to define within federalism!! many are mixed groups, who can claim both oromo and somali sides.
so if we cannot agree on the borders; why not co-administer the disputed places then? that is much better than two mainly muslim groups fighting and sending each other to hell!!
example: if we dispute moyale, instead of fighting, have a half oromo/half somali local administration.
two working languages. rotate rulers every 4-8 years, so one term an oromo governs, one term, a somali governs.
???

Shared local administration is a sensible solution. Can you post a map of the disputed lands, that you won legally in the 2004 referendum?Waachis wrote: Fri Oct 06, 2017 8:12 pm addis ababa/finfinne. The Oromo will tell what you want and behind doors where no Somali will hear that you will hear their truth. I made topic and showed you their conversations where they were advising each other to hide their hate for Somalis in public forums.however simple mind Somalis always fall for the sweet talks.

Majority of Oromos are Muslim, and Islam obliges us to work out disputes between Muslims. Do you think Somalis and Oromos can work out their disputes/differences based on the teachings of Islam?Canuck2 wrote: Sat Oct 07, 2017 3:58 pm The Oromo will tell what you want and behind doors where no Somali will hear that you will hear their truth. Nobody hates peace but Somalis should stay alert. Plus they shouldn’t act like stupid village virgin that gives away her virginity for false promises and sweet talks of strangers.paperino wrote: Sat Oct 07, 2017 4:25 pmMajority of Oromos are Muslim, and Islam obliges us to work out disputes between Muslims.
