Our 5 villas in Hodan got returned this week after troops arrived at them and kicked out the dirty looters. They have even ruined our beautiful gardens by making holes and putting dead people inside. I wounder what the sale prize for houses is at this point in Xamar

The market in Xamar is still good. My family was in the same situation as yours left behind 2 villas in mogadishu. One was in such bad condition it wasn't worth caring about , but the bigger one was still in tact. My parents neighbor somehow broke into it and was living in it all those years. Crazy lady had a pickup truck with machine gun mounted on the back . At first they tried talking to her and asking her to leave but she refused and claimed the house was now hers because nobody was there to claim it. Like you said the gov loves kicking looters and squatters out of houses that isn't theirs and it's because they often get paid to do so by the home owner, just show them proof the house was yours and they will get to work. They came and told her either she leaves alive or she leaves dead , you make the choice, and she left. My dad sold the house got the last installment for it 2 summers ago.
