Somali stores generally charge higher prices for inferior products and services.
I've found this out to my cost......and generally don't patronize their businesses. :)

I support Somali businesses through and through, however when ever there is bad customer service, I switch on them. I never had any problems with Somali businesses, they treat you well, extremely well actually. I had one odd bad experience with a money transfer company, but we managed to resolve the issue after manager got involved.

But huuno OD is absolutely right they do sell mainly inferior products and services and the quality of customer services they provide is very much marked with nepotism as I have recently discovered.

Well, they are small mom-and-pop shops so they'll hire their families for help, you have very high standards for s/o who shops at cheap second hand stores.

I had a terrible experience with Somali business. Mostly meat shops.

As you walk in most likely two or one is praying behind the counter. The other will rush from the butchering table.

Hate maxaan ku siiyaa?

There is no picture of cuts or any display. The meat is in the freezers and all the one they chopping on the table are tough tasteless neck meat for stew ( so called fake suqaar) .

Steak ma haysaa ( t bone or rib steak) .

May waa nags dhamaaday ( they don't sell those cuts to begin with and hardly know how to cut it from the huge carcass) .

Ok maxaan haysaa hilib loaad I thus.

He comes rushing in with slab of " candho " from the brisket side.

May may. Iska daa.

A single mother with big booty comes in from his own tribe. He completely turns to serve her the same cuts I needed. Wtf.

My last stroke was when a Dhulbahante butcher charged me $15 a killo for camel meat.

I said fuck man I ain't paying $30 for two kilos of Australian road kill.

A week before that they sold me 2 kilos for $18 . a Dhulbahante friend was in the store I had bad cold and told them to sell me good fatty nice cuts to cure my cold.

Now they are trying to charge $30 fir the same. I told him are you charging me khaatumo qaadhaan.

The answer was " waar waxa iska daayo iska bixi lacagta"

That's it am done with Somali meat shops.
