It seems Farmaajo led government continues to make one catastrophic mistake after another. Prior to divulging on possible outcomes from another very naive, ill conceived, some say illegal move, we should all take notice that human lives were lost in this incident including from what I hear an innocent girl in the hotel. Far too often it seems human life is taken for granted and men playing political chess use use the lives of the poor to settle scores. AUN intii ku dhimatay.

This attack, which on paper was ordered by by the attorney general of Somalia, is an example of the directionless nature of the Farmaajo led government. In a time when there is supposedly an attempt to mobilize forces for a major assault against Alshabaab, when it appears after the disastrous October suicide bombing the government had a popular mandate to wage war against alshabaab, a move that would almost cripple if not paralyze the support of a significant clan is under taken. It appears this government takes one step forward and two steps back.

The idea that certain MPs can be raided because they are receiving "foreign funds from UAE" begs the questions; when has the UAE became an Enemy of Somalia. Why do we have military bases in Mogadishu supposedly training "Xooga dalka Soomaliyeed" fully funded and supported by the UAE. Farmaajo himself has gone to that country numerous times. To oppose Farmaajo and Kheyre does not equate opposing or undermining the Sovereignty of Somalia!

I disagree Talo alle udaa . You're im Mogadishu being undermined by essentially a Non-State Actor is not a way to establish any credibility as a Government. Stop it sxb, HG are a noble clan and should never be equated with their corrupt politicians. You have to understand, all the warlords, sleazy businessmen and fraudulent politicians across Somalia have used the paranoia of their qabiil to stay afloat for decades, these guys never cared about the well being of their clansmen, matter of fact they have sent many young men to die in battles that directly threatened their $$$$.

Qabiil is a very sensitive subject sxb, try not to associate a whole clan with their thugs even if your intention is pure.

I think that it was a strategic blunder. Abdirahman Abdishakur is a criminal who deserves to be shot. But he comes from a powerful local clan that is wealth and armed to the teeth. As a fledgling government you don't want to start wars you can't finish. The government should concentrate on building a strong multi clan army and police force that can enjoy the monopoly of force, and is able to kick butt. Until you reach that position where you're the biggest, baddest dog in the area, inconvenient issues like Abdirahman Abdishakur should be treated with guile, negotiation, politics, money and other means. They could even assassinate him and blame the shabab. But when this negro is arrested and released after a few days because of tribal pressure, it exposes the weakness of government. And Somalis go for blood when they sense weakness.

All is not lost however, because both Farmaajo and the government still enjoy goodwill from both the populace and other actors. However, Farmaajo must really master the art of politics, which is essentially guile and deceit. You only employ force when you are militarily stronger than everyone.
