Ancient City of Harar named after Murusade Karanle
Harar is said to be the 4th most holiest city after Al Quds (Jerusalem), Makkah and Medinah, it's a city with over 110 masajid and houses more than 100 shrines.
This is also the same city in which the Karanle Imaam and General Axmed Gurey set up base to conquer ardul Habasha.
Harar's previous name Adeeri is named after Karanle's youngest son Wa'adeeri (Murusade's actual name) even today you will find Harar natives calling themselves Aderi.
Whilst Wa'adeeri migrated to central and southern somaliya, his 3 other brothers (Gidir, Sixawle and Kaariye) remained in the vicinity (Hararghe region) even till this day.
There is also settlement in Harar named after Gidir called "Gidir Magala"

Karanle is one of the oldest Somali clans. Sadly many are getting killed by Oromos and some even speak their language

Karanle I believe is one of the 6 sons of Hawiye. Far older than Hiraab or any other Hawiye sub clan you regularly hear about. Saying Karanle seems like a blanket term since there's bound to be a lot of different sub clans within it. They're probably called Karanle and not their sub sub clans due to a small population though. Sadly their degaan Babiile is part of the Oromo region and not the Somali region, lot of their villages got burned down in the mid 2000sAdali wrote: Sun Dec 24, 2017 11:38 amhow long is their abtirsi ?random123456 wrote: Sun Dec 24, 2017 11:36 am Karanle is one of the oldest Somali clans. They not only live in Baabile, but Ma'ayso as well, which is part of Sitti province.

What a load of BS. Ignorance leads one to make up all kinds of fairytale stories.
The locals are called Gey in their native language and Aderi is rather Amharic.
The only place with historical ties based on pure facts is Hargeisa. Before Hargeisa was re-named Hargeisa, it was called little Harar. You can also see Harar'geys'sa is the combination of Harar and gey the local inhabitants..sa.

Walannweyns and their love fascination for Ahmed guray. Frst of all the imam didn't fight for Somalis. Or adaris Or afar.
Harar is a city founded by several kingdoms by ifat. Later walashma and last adal. Karanle did not even have one emir in harar. It's close harangue region which is a shared region between isaaq and oromos

Harar did not even exist during the time of the prophet. So why the heck are you saying it's the 4th holiest city?

There were two Ahmed Gureys .A Somali one from Habar Makida(Gadbursi) and the Imam .Till this day the Imam's clan is a mystery though his successor(Amiir Nuur) was a Marehan
Some of the Somali clans who historically inhabited
around Harar and its vicinities are Geri kombe ,Karanle ,Usbayahan ,Sheekaash ,Marehan,Bertire etc
Why do you think the Imam was Karanle Hawiye ?any evidence?

Re: Ancient City of Harar named after Murusade Karanle
By process of deduction we know the Imam was not Oromo (they were farther south and in conflict with Adal); nor Amhara/Tigray (we were fighting Abyssinia); nor Afar (they are not one clan but many clans and their clans would have been mentioned in Futuh...); nor Isaaq, Hawiye or Darood.
Two plausible explanations of his origins are the mere fact these people still live in the region -- Dir and Harla. These two groups were decimated by the Adal Wars, yet still live in the region. In the case of the Harla they do not even exist as we knew it then. They scattered and formed new alliances with Hararis, Oromos, and other Somalis.
