Erdogan's visit to Sudan. Somalia's place in the equation.

Something serious is going on in the Middle East. It became obvious that the main reason for Erdogan's visit to Sudan was to secure the Suakin island and its environs for building a new Turkish military base. Ottomans used to have a military base on the island to control what is today Saudi Arabia. Few days ago Turkey has started sending new additional troops and heavy military equipment to Qatar. They already have a quite large contingent of Turkish commandos stationed in Qatar. Somali National Army recently received a first batch of light arms from Turkey. If you look at the map you can see that Turks are surrounding Gulf monarchies with its military bases. Egypt has already made clear that they don't want to confront Turkey despite the pressure from GCC. As a matter of fact Egypt sending signals to Turkey that it wants to normalize relations. Turkey is giving Eqypt cold shoulder. UAE and Saudi's are pissed at Erdogan's moves but helpless to openly intervene. One UAE official even went as far as calling Erdogan evil.

Erdogan brought an exceptionally large delegation with him to Sudan. Many agreements were signed. Sudan basically told Saudi Arabia in a polite way to phuck off after Saudi's raised objections. It is apparent that Sudanese value Turkish development assistance more than Saudi money hand-outs. UAE is especially upset that its hopes of extending its militarily reach in the Red Sea are being upstaged by Turkey.

I hope Somalia comes out strong out of whatever Turkey is brewing in the Middle East. At least we can use the situation to our advantage by getting more development help and rebuilding the country.

In the fist video below, the military base plan is mentioned:

.

UAE official's attack on Erdogan:
In his tweets, Khalfan said: "Turkey led by Erdoğan is an evil country. We must fight with Tanzim al-Hamdeen (Hamdeen Organization) in the Gulf on all levels. Any hesitation in believing that Qatar betrayed us under the leadership of the Hamdeen organization is an ignorance of the seriousness of this organization against us. The plan of Turkey and Qatar as I expect, and God knows the status of the north of Saudi Arabia in Qatar and the base in Suakin in the south on the end of the Sudanese border ... To protect the rebellion planned by Muslim Brotherhood so that these remain the wings of protection of the organization."

Add to this the Sudanese government withdrew most of her army from Yemen. About (Saudi/UAE) it is about the time to learn their place. Kuwait also asked turkey to open military base in their country (to protect themselves from their greedy brothers ).

Of all the Somali institutions the army is the most important at this present time.
Amisom and Al Shabaab are two sides of the same coin.....both must be vanquished. :D :som:
PS There is no doubt Turkey is our most important ally.

What surprises me is the fact that Sudan, by no means a push-over, has agreed to hand over a strategic island and its environs to Turkey for military base. I still find it hard to believe.

I think Saudi/UAE were planning to raid Qatar's soverign fund ($350 billions?) after getting ok from Trump when he visited the kingdom. Erdogan basically said to them " not under my watch" and sent a large contingent of Turkish special ops to protect Qatari government. Qatari emir literally owns his life to Erdogan. UAE was planning to send foreign mercenaries to remove him from power. They could not get green light from U.S. due to sudden arrival of Turkish commandos to Qatar.

UAE planned to invade Qatar with Blackwater-linked mercenaries: Report

After it failed, greedy king Salman rounded up Saudi billionaires to shake off money. No surprise Kuwaitis are running to Turks to escape Saudi/UAE mafia.

UAE is so pissed at Turkey that they resorted to actively trying to play ethnic card putting Arabs against Turks. That's despite the fact that among Arabs Erdogan is the most popular leader.

Here is a quote from the UAE minister of state for foreign affairs:
A senior UAE diplomat said on Wednesday that the Arab world would not be led by Turkey, the Gulf state's first comment on Ankara since a quarrel broke out last week over a retweet by the Emirati foreign minister that President Tayyip Erdogan called an insult.

Anwar Gargash, the UAE minister of state for foreign affairs, said there is a need to rally around the "Arab axis" of Saudi Arabia and Egypt to ward off regional powers that wish to expand their influence at the expense of the Arab world.

"The Arab world will not be led by Tehran or Ankara," he wrote on his official Twitter page.

Last week, Turkey summoned the charge d'affaires at the UAE embassy in Ankara, after UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan shared a tweet that accused Turkish troops of looting the holy city of Medina a century ago.

Smart moves by both sides. Sudan is playing the neutrality game with regards to the Saudi-UAE axis and the Turkey-Qatar axis..

Sudan got the US sanctions lifted after 20 years this year due to UAE lobbying on behalf in DC. Ambassador Otaiba and Jared Kushner were the key figures in that. Also the Yemen war.

I am glad Turkey is making a comeback as a Middle Eastern power. House of Saud has proven itself again and again to be nothing more than single-celled thugs, sub-servant to the Western elite. Apparently kidnapping Middle eastern political figures and businessmen is Saudi Arabia's new policy;
The Saudis were outmaneuvered on Jerusalem both by their traditional rival Iran and by Turkey. Even worse for Riyadh, Jordan is posturing as the foremost defender of Arab and Islamic claims to Jerusalem. The Saudis took the Hijaz and the two holy cities from the Hashemites just a century ago. It is very humiliating for the Saudis to appear weak on Jerusalem compared to the Hashemites. The Saudis tried to persuade King Abdullah not to attend the Islamic summit in Turkey and then briefly detained a prominent Palestinian-Jordanian businessman to intimidate Abdullah by threatening the Jordanian economy. The Saudi detention of Sabih al-Masri was reminiscent of the detention and forced resignation of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri in November.

Saudi diplomacy goes on defensive

Looks like Sudan is no longer a neutral player. It was reported that on the sidelines of Erdogan't visit there was a meeting between Turkish, Sudanese and Qatari Army chiefs in Khartoum. Possibly Saudi/UAE debacle on Jerusalem issue pushed Sudan toward Turkey. As part of the deal, Turkey will repair and modernize Sudanese naval ships.

Egypt is particularly upset due to the ongoing border dispute with Sudan over the Halayeb Triangle.

In the meantime, Erdogan is trolling Saudi/UAE/Egyptian criticism:
Asked about reports that Turkey would build a naval base at Sudan's port of Suakin, Erdogan told a group of journalists on his return from an Africa visit that included Sudan: "There is no such thing as a military port."

I suspect the camel urine drinkers will try find a way to drag sudan and the rest of east africa into their conflict and make their country suffer.

They are already trying to destabilize Turkey as it is reportedly that KSA-UAE is supporting the Kurdish seperatist.

I take it as the Saudi/UAE crime syndicate needed some foreign troops to fight for them in Yemen. So, they got sanctions lifted on Sudan. Bashir fell for it, but quickly realized what a clusterphuck Yemeni war has become. He withdrew most of his troops from Yemen and went straight to Erdogan. Every action Saudi/UAE idiots have taken backfired on them, except for Morsi's auster in Egypt. List of their failures includes Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar, Yemen, Sudan, Tunisia.

What country in its right mind would demand other country to surrender its sovereignty unless the goal is to loot its wealth under approval of one of the super powers? Saudi/UAE are modern day pirates and criminals disguised as legit countries.

They scared sh.it out Qatar. Erdogan is viewed as a savior by Qataris. He is popular as ph.uck there, especially among young Qataris.
