PM Kheyre vists Senator Qeybdiid's house to apologise. The big question who is in charge of Somalia's troops?

Post by BVSNet »

Following President Farmaajo's immediate reaction, PM Kheyre has followed suit and sought to distance himself from the plot to harm the Senator.

Saturday's attack on Senator Qeybdiid's house comes only 12 days after a similar attack by government forces on former minister Abdirahman Abdishakur when government soldiers raided Abdishakur's home at midnight without a warrant killing 5 security guards and a pregnant woman who worked for Abdishakur before arresting him for alleged treason. Abdishakur, political opposition of the current administration who was released from prison, has dismissed the claim and has accused the government of plotting to kill him. In Somalia armed midnight raids are reminiscent of the dictator Siyaad Barre's modus operandi for getting rid of the political opposition who would be killed or imprisoned for alleged treason without trial.

The attack on the two politicians, both from the Habar Gidir clan, comes 3 months after government forces supported by US troops killed Habar Gidir civilians in Bariire in August 2017.

The quick reaction of the President and Prime Minister in distancing themselves from the illegal actions of the government soldiers though promising raises an even bigger question, who exactly is in charge of Somalia's troops? Apologies no matter how senior the office offering them will only go so far if guns keep getting drawn by government troops.

This thread is not about maritime disputes. I'm not here to defend any points on that topic.

This is about the murder of 6 people and an unborn baby by government forces as well as the illegal entry into and destruction of private property by government forces.

The government must hold its own forces to account. How will it be able to hold anyone else to account if it behaves as a thug itself.

Somalia is held together by a series of thin threads and this government is running around recklessly with scissors.

My people have not burned anyone. If someone is accused of something due process should be pursued and justice served.

This is very basic. I don't believe it's expecting too much of a government not to send armed soldiers into people's houses in the middle of the night and shoot rounds into a pregnant woman.

BV job well done. We all know mighty HG is under attack from Kuwait and Faqash, two enemies still bitter over 1990s.

We know it was organised by Kheire and the motive behind the assault on Nabadoon Qeybadiid was to create anti-UAE HG.

But HG are no kids who can be fooled.

Their target is locked on the enemy no matter how much they try to divert attention.

The so called arrests were BS and carefully drafted behind the walls of the Villa by Kuwait boy and his weak guest from Gedo.

An irrefutable fact that you can’t deny.. HG ”Government soldiers” backed by other Hawiye SNA militias burned a Biimaal grandmother and her 8 grandchildren including a newborn baby.

Another incident happened a year later in which a pregnant Biimaal woman was raped and murdered by HG militia inside Marka as some kind of revenge (bizarre logic) because the HG SNA lost a battle around the town Janaale against a local Biimaal militia.

Then we have the murder of Biimaal elders who were traveling from Bay/Bakool after a peace conference and the murder was also orchestrated by HG. It was an attempt to scare Biimaal from putting their weight behind “Konfuur Galbeed” that was being formed around that time.

For the last 20 years the HG clan has fought indigenous communities in Lower Shabeelle, stealing farmland while trying to create new settlements.

Your HG clan has committed unforgivable crimes in Lower Shabeelle, Bay and Bakool etc.. crimes against humanity among other things and you’re crying over 6 men lol.

For a fact to be irrefutable there must be evidence. Please share that with me if you have it.

The tangent you've gone on seems to be that the federal government does not need to be held accountable for killing 5 innocent men and a pregnant woman because the man they were working for was a Habar Gidir man. If that's your outlook on life then there's nothing I can do on an online forum to help you.

I'll just point out that this isn't two clans fighting and each side accusing the other of government backing. This is a government using government troops illegally attacking people's houses in the middle of the night. It's not my theory, it's the reality* and clearly the beginning of a very dangerous trend.

So when HG “soldiers” attack and murder unarmed civilians with the blessing of the paper government based in Mogadishu and Hawiye warlords/”businessmen” it’s okay, because we didn’t see you condemn the crimes committed by your clan, matter of fact you’ve been defending their occupation of Lower Shabeelle, but as soon as the victims are HG you’re crying foul which is ridiculous. I’m not condoning the raid on that mans house but it’s easy to spot your hypocrisy.

Now.. The article claims the victims were 7 people but they were 8 and I could give you Somali articles in which the governor of Marka himself confirms that these people were murdered because of the ongoing conflict between the indigenous community (Biimaal) and the occupying HG SNA backed by other Hawiye militias and the paper government.

There you go.

The rest of your post is about me as an individual and you are under no obligation to buy me flowers and I'm under no obligation to convince you of my character.

Ps read the title of the link you posted, it says "unknown".

PPs calling one group indigenous and the other occupiers is probably the most balanced and thoughtout perspective ever to be shared on a conflict.

Excellent I like the hierarchy of Somalia.

Habargedir ultimate fighters good with bussiness great generals. They just suck at politics and law and order. Sharci iyo xeer dhibbaata ka haysata but the clan is strong reer Kuwait aka dayniille is bowing to dhuusamareeb and shingaani hg new turf I love the expansion of hg. Survivial of the fittest
