My case for Ogaden region to join Somaliland (SL). SL has always had a good relationship with Ethiopia. The Somalis in the ogaden region are being ostracized and always in conflict with their fellow Ethiopians. It would also solve the problem in the east somaliland where the dhulbahante feel like they are not represented. Also ogaden is in constant conflict with it's fellow Ethiopians, if given the choice (stay in Ethiopia or join your fellow Somalis in SL) I think they would choose SL. The reason I chose SL is because it is a healthy democracy.

It would also be that the Dir and isaaq clans, would have to share power fairly. The political system in somaliland is better as every person can vote, so every one has a say! It would also shift power in the region from the south to the north. Rather than puntland wanting to join Somalia, because of it's affinity for it's fellow clan members (ogadeni) the darood they would want to join Somaliland, they would probably become the largest portion of the government system. Even though it would be quite hectic the first 10 years, I think most Somalis would not care who's clan leader is ruling the country as long as the people's level of living standard continues to rise. Once this happens the south will eventually join somaliland thus having the idea that most Somalis want a Somali Wayne.

The Somaliland abyssinian border is very clear no change in that border. Isaaqs ciise and darod in Ethiopia are Ethiopians. Ethiopia is their country.

Ethiopia and Somaliland have a good relationship now. No more wars or border disputes with ethiopians

My belief is that Ethiopia is on the brink of civil war and ogaden region will become a big problem for them, because there is a good relationship between Somaliland and Ethiopia then we can make a deal? and wouldn't our case for independence be better? Our system of democracy should be able to withstand the daroods! After all we are all somali!

Ethio-SL border is already demarcated and there is no need to change it.

If our nomads are not happy in Haud,they can always move to SL but we will never take Cagdheer.

In fact Ethio needs to send its highland people to the lowlands to farm since the highlands are over populated and lowlands remain empty deserts.

It’s time Ethiopia created new multi-ethnic cities and farmlands.

Ogadenia is country of it's own. They don't have to join Somaliland or Somalia.

We somalilanders have a policy in the horn of Africa. We made a mistake once in 1960. Joining Hutus and faqash to form a country this was our biggest mistake. We are correcting our mistake. Somaliland Needs to be recognized by all means necessary.

Ogadenia has a clear legal path to independence, on paper anyway, they have no need or desire to join s/l, which has been in political limbo for thirty years.
I doubt the Ogadens would even join Somalia and who could blame them.
