Yes and this is why some isaaq in the past hated oromo because some oromo fought with siad Barre against Ethiopia and secessionist isaaq.

Personally I am maccaa from my dad side and arsi from my mom side. Maccaa are about 12 to 13 million and are one of the biggest oromo clans. They mostly live in the west bordering Sudan. We used to ship our coffee gold cattle etc through ports of sudan while my moms side of the family sold products through Somali ports. We are a diverse group like Somalis are.
My dad himself and his brother lived in Mogadishu, met siad barre, everything.
The oromo supported one Somalia back then and as I said before, this made some secessionist isaaq mad.
But territorial disputes is what made siad Barre disagree with oromo but other than that we all knew that we are related and our inability to unite has weakened us both.
