Dervish State of Mind

The dervish wars wasnt only about land ,it was also an idealogy war,
We somalis are very sensitive about our culture and identity,our identity is so important that it causes strife because of clan identity.When the colonialist came to our land,they tried the africa colonilizing strategy of trying to convert us to there ideology and religion
Most of Africa and Asia are the way they are today because they were conquered and excepted the white man ideology that made the white man superior in their eyes,but not somalis never somalis,somalis fought against ethiopia,bantus,oromos,europeans because of their identity
Somalis fought the europen superor power and the habeshi empire for 20-25 years and the thing that triggered the somalis was not only that there were foreigners on their land,but most importantly those foreigners were forcing their culture on our youth,the most vulnerable group of a society,when Sayyid Mohammed Abdullah Hassan,Nur Ahmed Amin and somali leaders around the land saw this,they knew,they understood that this was a war for their land and culture
We need a new Dervish War,the same war of ideology,my brothers and sisters most of us are in foreign lands surrounded by foreign influences,we do not really have a country,our land which use to be a country is under threat of being occupied by foreigners,people that we use to consider are beneath us.
We need a war of identity to perserve our identity and culture,to be proud of our people and not to consider our selves as "africans" but somalis.War of economy,withouth wealth we have no real power,every somali should sweat and make wealth that will benefit somalis.War of knowledge we need to know our history we need to catch up to modern knowlegde i.e we need the knowledge of our past and for our future .War against corruption of our identity by other people that just want to suppress other people culturally with their music,movies e.t.c we are somalis not bantu not arabs but somalis
we need to fight with ourselves a war because of our history that gives us our identity and our future so others can claim our identity
