Ethiopia at a transition point

Post by Talo alle udaa »

Mark this day as a momentous one.

Reports from Jigjiga indicate Inna Iialy has high chance of being arrested after his palace was surrounded by Federal troops.

To have a Somali stooge replaced by Ethiopia with another is not new, it has happened in the past. What is unique in this situation is Iilay subordinates including the speaker of parliament came out openly against this move. They held a meeting at the party headquarters and are calling for open revolt against the Ethiopian troops who are predominately Oromo.

What happens in the Somali region maybe repeated in the Tigray region in which currently the federal govt of Ethiopia appears to have no direct control. This likely means TPLF maybe involved in any direct opposition to central rule by the Liyu police.

So far this morning the biggest church in Jigjiga has been burned. The Liyu police are still patrolling the streets. There are reports of clashes in towns across the region.

I think you’re behind sxb.

Abdi iley is arrested. He is no longer the president.

There’s separate meeting in Dire to form a new temporary administration.

Also it’s not a transition. Abiye is already PM and Ethiopia completed that transition awhile back now.

It is now taking full control of the country.

Abiye is centralist.

This was a nice wakeup call, let them kill Iley but we needed this wake up call to unite and have strength in unity. Iley was their puppet, a very good one for that matter, let these people fight for freedom, ONLF better take advantage of this, because this is perfect time to start a strong rebel movement, the feeling of ethnonationalism is extremely high, Iley not a single tear will be shed for him, but the federal troops in Jigjiga, the Oromo paramilitary killing Somalis all over, we need emergency reaction from the entire Kilinka, unity.

When will Ileey be strung from a light post? Or has he fled to Somalia? Where would he go? somaliland nope. Puntland they will sell him. Jubbaland is too far away. Djibouti too dangerous.

I just hope he does not show up in Galmudug asking for refugee status under the Walalaha Wardheer alliance
