Official Apology from Ethiopia to Djibouti
Ethiopia's PM has apologized to the Republic of Djibouti in the senseless killings of Djiboutians vacationing in Ethiopia. Perpetrators, according to the PM, will be brought to justice -- let us hope so.
Re: Official Apology from Ethiopia to Djibouti
No doubt they will be brought to justice and punished, InshaaAllah! Justice should be blind-ethnicity should not be an issue, it should be all about justice, regardless of who it's against/or for! Haqqa Dha! Akkas malee!

As they're writing this letter Somalis in D/dhabe are all fled to Mamarsan from the rest of the city, and Oromo hordes are still hunting them. A relative of mine fled from Xaafad ciise can't go back yet.

This is nuts. Where are the equally moronic savages liyuu when u need them the most or did they make alliances with Oromo?zidane88 wrote: Fri Aug 10, 2018 5:04 am As they're writing this letter Somalis in D/dhabe are all fled to Mamarsan from the rest of the city, and Oromo hordes are still hunting them. Farhan, it is happening where Oromo admin controls or under the federal government. The Somali Liyu has no federal jurisdiction. In the past, occasionally they crossed the border and push back the Oromo hordes, and for that reason is why Abdi, the Somali Liyu and the federal Government are in loggerheads.

I don't know where you get your news from that 'Oromo hordes are hunting Somalis' because the clean-up operation in the town has already started and the curfew in the city has been lifted. You will not find one reputable website, Somali or foreign, stating that fighting is raging on in Dire Dawa.
Do you even know what happened after the initial tragedy in Ganda Gamaju that set off the riots?
The riots were mainly centred in the centre of town and in neighbourhoods where Somalis and Oromos/Ethiopians converge; most of the civilians that left the city are from neighbourhoods such as Ganda Garada. After the initial assault, it became a standoff with youths from both sides fighting street battles mainly with sticks, knives etc. This was quickly put down by the Federal Police/Military and Regional Dire Dawa Police. Oromos did not camp in Xaafad Ciise or the other Ciise/Gurgura neighbourhoods as you wrongly claim. As a matter of fact, it was the Somali youths that ended up camping in the mixed central neighbourhoods after a fire was started in the house where the Djiboutian family were staying.

Zumaale i left there 8/08/2018, and have been in contact since. My niece is holed up in Mamarsan in fear of reprisal, and no one relies on federal military as they let down Somalis before handing them to Oromo hordes. Somalis fully know who the federals are siding with so they won't let their guard down.
Re: Official Apology from Ethiopia to Djibouti
Zidane, you crossed the Wajale border post around the 8th of August, not Dire Dawa. By that time, the mob violence between the two communities had been halted. The worst of the disturbances occurred on the 5th of August. Obviously, no one, Somali or non-Somali, was going to stay in the neighbourhoods where the violence was taking place but this was not in Xafaada Ciise as you wrongly claimed but in the mixed neighbourhoods such as Ganda Garada where different communities border each other. The following BBC interview is from when shit kicked off and illustrates my point.
Ofcourse Somalis are not letting their guard down. I wouldn't be surprised if they have not started smuggling guns into Dire Dawa from Shinille in case there is another showdown as the recent riots have mainly involved lightly armed youths fighting with knives, sticks etc. Nonetheless, as things stand, shit has not escalated beyond mob violence nor have the Federal Military gone Ham on the Somalis.

Re: Official Apology from Ethiopia to Djibouti
There is no wholesale killings going on in DD. At the outset waxa laisku shidiyeey dhagax, now that is over. Many unanswered questions about your family member. Did she fear for her life and didn't want to return to her house, single woman? As non-Ciise, once she heard of the commotion btwn Ciise and Oromos, she felt unease, unwelcomed and took precautions. I doubt any other families in her neighborhood packed their bags and traversed miles to get to safety. Other than some Oromos going ham on an innocent, visiting, family from Djibouti, nothing else happened. The Barbaarta youth held their ground and in fact went to assist in mixed neighborhoods. Xafad Ciise was as peaceful as your own town in Eastern Soomali-Galbeed. The name is a misnomer, Xafad Ciise is bigger and more densely populated than most towns/"cities" in DDSI.
