Allahu Naxaristo Amb Sahnoun

Post by AbdiWahab252 »

The best and first UN Special Representative to Somalia Amb Mohamed Sahnoun passed away this week. He arrived in 1992 to lead the UN operations but saw the agency’s flaws especially corruption, lack of buy in from the local power brokers.

He was an honest broker who was fair to all parties unlike Boutros Boutros Ghali who was very sympathetic to his old friend MSB. Once Amb Sahnoun resigned the campaign to malign the USC SNA cause went into full gear sowing the seeds for a protracted multi decade conflict.

Allahu Naxaristo Amb Sahnoun one of Africa’s best diplomats.

Khalidow he was from Algiers Algeria and wanted to listen to all parties. He was not biased against USC unlike the Americans and Ghali.

abdiwahab you know well that algerian and Libyan diplomats were never impartial when it comes to pro american governments like that of siyaad.

boutros boutros ghali was upholding international law, sahnoun wanted to legitimise a soviet lost cause in the name of somali rebel groups.
your friends lost the cold war weather mingistu or the old mans of the soviet union, did you expect america or the west to give benefit of the doubt when you over threw a western backed government, the entire unsom was western countries and their cold war allies and you come here with your outdated yuri andropov plan to unseat siad and build a new socialist democratic state in somalia...didnt you fools know that at that timesoviet union was disintegrating

the men in the cia and pentagon have long memories ask how general how has instituted american policy towards somaliland for the last 30 years, when they unilaterally declared independence( how ignorant can you be when the winner of the cole war, the hyper power is in your country and you ignore and dont consult them and their spartan generals)

the politics of that time was highly intelligence oriented

just like late 80s america is building new intelligence apparatus in somalia which is formidable :D
