First week in Sool

Post by Hennystreak »

I’ve been in Lasanod for a week now and I must say I’m quite impressed. The town has grown exponentially since I last visited in 2006 and their is construction in the works in every corner. I also bought a plot next to my grandfathers place where we reside in Jamalaaye.

I must say I agree with Sharmaake though, Lasanod residents have invested a lot in buying big houses. But the Business sector needs to improve. I’m disappointed in the fact that the town has been segregated in to subclans confining themselves in certain areas. This is especially true in places like Madareemin
Their is something about the ambience when you sit on Burt’s sayidka and look down in the town at sunset.
I’ve realised that Lasanod is also very clean compared to other places I have visited thus far.

The new stadium is also great and has decent seating. The older boys play great football too. Opposite the stadium is Mahad Cambaashes house. I was shocked to see how big his house was no wonder this guy is pro somaliland. They feed him well. It’s almost as big as Casuura hotel which is right next to it.

Places like Oog and Yagoori have grown tremendously. I drove past oog and stayed in yagoori for a night. It has grown well. I will be visiting yeyle and hadhwanaag tomorrow and Buhoodle the day after. :som:

I have a very different opinion on Mahad cambaashe but ina jabutaaw doesn’t run the electricity of the town anymore. Lesco headed by Abdi Geele another JS fellow provided cheap and efficient electricity to the whole town. He is in beledweyne now and is trying to establish a base there as well.

Yeh, the next project the current administration should undertake is to expand the airport terminal. Meesha meel lad fadhiisto males. I don’t think it will be too expensive; a couple of millions can yield great results 👍🏾

People back home are exactly like people in the west. Meherad yar inteey isku buuxiyaan ayeey wax bilaa micna eh ayeey ku dirirayaan. Dee meeshas shaqo ayaa jirin laakin kuwa qurbaha jooga excuse ma leh. They are busy sitting in Tim hortons arguing about qabyaalad while their sons are gamgbanging in the streets.

I never seen LA but I have been Borama, hargeisa, berbera and burao. Hargeisa and Borama don't even have maqaaxiyo there is almost zero fadhi ku dirir places to chew. Only few ciidagale from hawd chew in the in tea shops . In Borama all they are talking about is farms in berbera it was all about business . Burao was bit more conservative .

Sxb, SL presence has improved the security aspect of the city and region in general. However, I wouldn’t give the government credit for the bold projects initiated by private investors. You could say that the improved security has made it easier for ppl to invest in the town and I would agree. But successive governments have neglected everything east of and including Burco. Public institutions should be decentralised.

Who is Fahima Quuje?
