Somalia sells its sea for just $1 million
SFG gives license to Chinese companies to fish Somalia’s sees for just $1 million. It is estimated Somalia’s fishing industry has the potential to make billions annually. Meanwhile local fishermen are going to suffer big time trying to compete with big troller ships.

Not smart at all, to say the least. Who approved of this?!

The people should call this out and ask how the money will be invested for the people of somalia, if he can't explain then he should give it to the ministr of planing so he/she can construct a jetty port in one of the fishing towns.

I also saw the Somaliland minister warning the mogdishu goverment that if any Chinese boats fish in Somalland waters then they will be arrested.
I agree with the Somaliland minister because the sfg goverment should charge the Chinese by quotation not just ask them for 1million, one yellow fin or blue fin tune can fetch up to 1million.
I think the Somalia minister hasn't done their home work.

The BBC would not post fake news about somalia. It’s a very reliable source.
Also where have all the Faqash kids gone?

Another reason why the incompetent Farmaajo administration needs to go and fast.Togdeer wrote: Wed Dec 12, 2018 4:50 pm SFG gives license to Chinese companies to fish Somalia’s sees for just $1 million. 1 million . WTF is that. One Chinese boat can take fish worth one million in single trip. We will rob the chinese if we see them around Somaliland territory. Even if they take the fish from Somalia we will rob them any way and charge them that they stole from us .

It's an international fishing license for 2-3 months, December to February. Seems about right. What did you expect?
Where I am an individual fishing permit is $25 per day foe individual and 500 commercial per day.
500X30 (days) = 15,000
15,000X3 (months) = 45,000
45, 000 X 30 (number of licenses) = 1,350,000
This isn't licenses being given to China the coountry, but probably a trade group representing Chinese fishing companies with their own bottom line and needed profitability
Seems reasonable
You guys are too much

Yellow fin Tuna found in Indian Ocean, Gulf of Aden have an average wholesome price of $8.91
https://www.tridge.com/intelligences/ye ... tuna/price
Yellow fin tuna can reach weights of over 180kg, there are larger species such as big eye tuna. So the commercial company can catch 1 fish per day to brake even.
