Somalia cannot move on with only 1 capital

Post by AhmedBoqor »

Even if everything goes according to plan and Somalia is on an upward trajectory, the issues of the past will still haunt our capital. Most if not all public infrastructure development is currently focused on the capital region because of its volatility, indirectly leading the nation back to centralization which will not be acceptable to the regional states committee.

Likewise sending the capital to Hargesia, Kismayo, or Garowe will give certain clan enclaves special privileges. The region of Banaadir and its beneficiaries will not agree to such a concession. It is political suicide and a major dent to their bottom-line which is understandable, even if the majority of Somalis would benefit moving on from Xamar.

Since neither side of the aisle has the military might to overrule the other's ambition - Which is little compared to the Kenya/AU or Ethiopian military means anyways - Dividing the branches of power and allocating it to different parts of the country seems to be the only political solution that everyone COULD possibly agree on. It also follows the federalism theme we have been harping on since the turn of this decade.

Alhamdulilah we got rid of you piece of shit failures from political power. The days of you wasting Somalia’s time with your federalist anti Mogadishu nonsense is over.

Somalia saw its greatest rise when it only had 1 capital and inshallah thanks to the staunch leadership of Aabo Farmajo we will return to that. Stay in your dusty village, we politically beheaded majerteen and intend to keep power centered in Mogadishu.

Yesterday the PM inaugurated two roads leading to two FEDERAL STATES, yet they stood on the sideline like puppies obeying their master. That is the future of JL and PL too.

If you have problem with that you are free to leave Somalia. Centralism is back and wallahi we won’t cede an inch to you losers. Count yourselves lucky we are not as bloody as the Kacaan.

What's with the emotions sxb? Deal with the facts and stop being a doocil. You cannot build what you cannot control, and Mogadishu is controlled by foreigners. I will only accept what you have to say if you have the ability to coerce me with the bullet but we both know what you have is barely enough to control the capital so iska aamus.

Somaliland is the only state that rejects Mogadishu as the capital, but at the same time you are the only ones who would benefit from keeping it as the political centre to justify your need for secession.

Althought I disagree with OP your attitude bothers me. Remember that if you want a successful functioning country EVERYBODY has to be happy that means all clans have good representation and distribution of wealth, jobs opportunities ect. So the question is this really what are the positives for centralisation as opposed to federalism? Make your case in a respectable manner.

I disagree somalia is moving forward as we speak, but I do agree that the clan that lives majority in the capital benefits direct and indirectly, this is mitigated by the fact that the tax we collect from Mogadishu is also invested in poorer regions like Puntland, Jubaland, Hiirshabelle, Galmudug, because they tax they collect is not even enough to sustain their local authority, thus bringing some balance.

As for government institutions being spread out in the country, that will happen naturally, and this was one of the goals of the Kacaan government to not only base everything in Mogadishu as was the case in the SYL era :)
