Rant: Hormuud Is A Monopoly in South Somalia
This guy is not happy with Hormuud Telecommunications.
Is this guy a unique case or do small business people back home hate Hormuud?

Re: Rant: Hormuud Is A Monopoly in South Somalia
Hormuud, Telekom and Golis are all part of the same larger group Ex Bakaraat. The founder Mr Jimcaale, Somalia’s richest man owns large stakes in all three.
The ExBarkaat consortium dominates all of their markets. They had monopoly pricing for years but now face competition.
Back to Hormuud, these fockers dominate wide sectors of the economy. It’s like a Somali Berkshire Hathaway: own electricity companies like BECO, banks like Salama farms, construction companies like Dar uu salaam estates etc.
They are also working hard against government regulations like weakening the Ministry of Telcommunications efforts to promote network interoperability so that callers can call others on a different network. These fockers also pay heavy taxes to the shadow government beyond the Green Zone.
That being said if you got into Hormuud years ago, you’d be a millionaire. If you are a senior citizen kinsman of Me Jimcaale, you get a pension from him. The only one of its kind among Somalia

Wasn't Cadoow, the real target of that graduation ceremony masscre few years back, part of the group that own Hormuud? You can't hate their hustle. If you can't beat them then join them.
