So a historical court ruling took place last week advancing women and children rights. 38 years old child molester refused to divorce his child bride, the father and the groom tried to force the child into the marriage by threat of violence.

Finally the child sought justice using the new SL law that prohibit force marriage and despite threat of violence from her father the child persisted and she won.

Now the Kastuumo probaganda mill are claiming that Isaaq is preventing them from molesting their on children and their freedom of child molestation is violated.

In the end of the interview ( last in the clip) the groom is adamant that his right was violated and he lost financially in the court ruling. The groom is one Iftiin with funny Eelaay accent, it looks like the girl's mother hails from deep south community and her father from Kastuumo community.

Is that enough? Or should SL even go farther and ban child marriage all together and charge the practitioners of this culture with long prison sentence. Children can't consent and often they are forced and manipulated into marrying old geezers for money for their family.

No weddings under the age of 17. Introduce contraception and prohibit newly married couples who are 17 years old to a maximum number of 2 children in their first 5 years of marriage.

Forcing a young girls into marriage should be illegal under the Somaliland law and any parent who are marries off his child should be sent to jail period. Qurjinl would choose going to hell rather than haven with Idoor.

I even would push it past university age , I am not sure at what age Somalis start school and finish university. Let say something like 22.

Nobody said its unique to your community, just that the case at hand happened in dulbahnte area and involves dhulbahnte individuals. In fact, this problem is prevalent in all Somali territories.

This should serve as a warning to anyone who might be thinking about marrying underage girl.

P.S. The girl was brave enough to seek help from the law, she should be applauded.
