Ethiopia, EU, Eritrea, Djibouti believe in Somali unity

Post by AwRastaale »

Another major blow for camp ictiraaf. Ethiopia is pushing for the unity of Somali Republic.

Bihi visit was about that as we all knew. It's also true last week the EU came for the same reasons as did Eritrean FM. Guelleh also paid visit to Mogadishu to push for same agenda.

Camp ictiraaf is getting more isolated especially the Ethiopian stance will hurt them deep. For years they thought Ethiopia both loved them and feared United Somali Republic.

Ethiopia awaits EU signal to engender Somaliland, Somalia dialogue

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (ADV) – Ethiopian Prime minister Abiy Ahmed is awaiting a European Union input to boost reconciliation initiative between Somalia and Somaliland, ADV learns here Sunday.

Last week, delegates from several EU countries visited Hargeisa and held a discussion with Somaliland leader on the prospects of a dialogue between Somalia and Somaliland and the way forward.

The delegates’ meeting stems from the efforts by the Ethiopian Premier Aby Ahmed to reconcile Somalia and the self-proclaimed republic of Somaliland in a bid to bolster peace in the Horn of Africa.

Somaliland broke away from Somalia during the protracted war that erupted after the death of Said Barré, the founder of present-day Somalia and the advent of several armed groups including Al-Shabaab with the intent to create an Islamic state.

This complex politico-military situation has drawn the interests of superpowers into the Somali political landscape and compounded the situation.

With the advent of Aby Ahmed’s administration, he has vowed to install peace throughout the Horn of Africa with a focus on the Somali-Somaliland conflict as well as the Ethiopian-Eritrean crisis that has known some success

Speaking last week at Jigjiga town during a meeting with the leaders of Ethio-Somali regional state, Abiy underscored that he will work on missions to stabilize horn of African region.

“Acting on your call last year about the issue of Somalia and Somaliland, my government started efforts to broker dialogue between Somalia and Somaliland. The two sides are vital development and security of the region,” said PM Abiy.

Aby’s remarks come barely a month after Somaliland leader, and Muse Bihi Abdi visited Addis Ababa following an invitation by the Ethiopian government.
The sides discussed regional peace and integration, in addition to bilateral ties, sources told ADV.

Bihi had acknowledged Abiy’s efforts to consolidate regional integration and accepted the premier’s call to further strengthen the close working relationship between the Somaliland Administration and Federal Government of Somalia.

After the meeting between Somaliland leader and PM Abiy, Somali government applauded Somaliland’s president Bihi for his cooperation.

It was following that meeting that it was agreed that Somalia and Somaliland would resume talks after input from the European Union which is backing the Somalia-Somaliland peace and reconciliation process.

In 2014, the Federal Government of Somalia and Somaliland signed another accord following three-day talks moderated by the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

The two sides agreed on the continuation of the talks facilitated by Turkey but a month later Somaliland rescinded its decision and accused Turkey of supporting Somalia against Somaliland.

It would be an ethiopian national security issue if Somaliland was able to succeed from Somalia since there are many ethnic "states" within ethiopia that would then become emboldened to seek those same aspirations. The EU views it in a similar way since they concocted these arbitrary lines in Africa that put different ethnic and tribal groups in the same country. The thing about Somalia is that it's one "ethnic group" that shares a common religion and language but are easily divided along tribal lines. It's unfortunate that our enemies could use somalis as pawns by pitting different clan groups against each other, but we will move past this ugly time in our history and eventually come to the right conclusion.

Farmaajo gave Eritrea to Ethiopia in exchange for Somalia's sovereignty. Grand chess move.

Meanwhile, Kheyre is off to Washington DC.

Mogadishu (HOL) - Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire has departed to the U.S. capital on Sunday after appointing three new cabinet ministers.

The PM is leading a delegation of senior government officials to Washington to meet with the IMF, World Bank and possibly high-level U.S. government officials.

The delegation includes Somalia's heads of finance, planning, security, intelligence.

Khaire is expected to discuss Somalia's fiscal reforms and the path to debt forgiveness with the IMF and the World Bank. He previously met IMF officials in September 2017.

Analysts have suggested that the significant number of officials from NISA - Somalia's intelligence agency - could signal potential meetings with high-level U.S. security officials.

As the PM packed for Washington, he appointed Fawzia Mohamed Sheikh as the Minister of Energy and Water Resources and Sadaq Hirsi Warfa as the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs.

Salah Ahmed Jama was chosen to replace the former Constitutional Affairs Minister Abdurahman Hosh Jibril who tragically passed away last month in Dubai during surgery. Jama was previously the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs./quote]

There was never any chance of sl being recognised.
The secessionists hoped could entice foreign companies to produce oil and thus buy themselves an economic freedom at least.

Nothing has worked for sl except a relatively peaceful existence......unfortunately you cant eat peace...without economic development sl will continue to be a dust blown fly blown piece of desert that people flee from.

If daddy Ethiopia spoke to them point blank, they know indeed Farmajo has closed the canal.

Now people in Waqooyi will seek services and their rights from the Federal Government as individuals, groups and communities.

I am personally in favour of abolishing all so called tribal federals.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Only a delusional cunt such as yourself AwAmxaar and your Walaweyn lovers would think we would abandon our legitimate case for "unity".

We spearheaded Pan Somalism, we were the only party that ratified 'the Act of Union' because we were sincere unlike the sewage rats from Zoomalia Italiana, we sacrificed more than all other Somali clans combined and the thanks we got was death and destruction.

Go tell Djibooty to unite with Zoomalia.

Anaga sheekadaa ha noola iman.

Djibouti believing in Somali unity , the first Somali region to reject Somali unity urge others for unity while opting out the hypocrisy. Also Eritrea the nation that fought almost 50 years to have their on country.

None of them really matter , what matters is the owners of the real state Somaliland citizens and majority believe in Somaliland nationhood.
