Back in the Colonial Era, Somalis from Hargeisa used to spy for the Brits there is nothing brave about them. It was the Dulbahante clan who is a Darod Subclan from British Somaliland that used to fight the Brits

The snitches, spies and cooks were all Darod (Dhulbahante).

Isaaq were always soldiers.

Isaaq were praised by Imam Al Ghazi in Futuh al Habasha as ferocious lions on the battlefield during Adal-Abyssinia wars and they were the first to answer his call.

During 1977/78 war it was Isaaq officers and colonels that liberated all the crucial districts and defeated Ethiopia in those battles.

Bravery+ carelessness+stupidity= ? That's not good . One thing I am sure is my people are not bad peaple and if some of them go crazy they all go bad . I don’t know about the somalia italia. But the people during the somaliland protectorate times were true heroes.
Britain which at the time only had a population of 30 million managed to rule India with a iron first. India had a population of 300 million.
Meanwhile Britain found it hard when it came to British Somaliland which had a population of only 300,000.

As for Dhulbahante they were irrelevant the British did not sign a treaty with them, because they did not live on the coast. The British were only worried about protecting their cargo. They even managed to sign a treaty with the much smaller clan Warsengeli.

Then Dhulbahante would cry and say we were fighting the colonists and were Derwish.
However they were nothing but foot soldiers for the Sayid.
My own sub sub sub clan Adan Madoobe has more high ranking officials and more wanted men when it came to the Darawiish compared to all Qurjiles.

A Haberjeclo dude says to Xinne Xiirey (mhrip) " you're going to hell man" and Xiinne (mhrip) replies " why would i go to hell when there is always one Habarjeclo I can kick out of heaven and take his place".

The Islamic rule for praying which goes if you are able you pray standing.....if unable......sitting.......if unable to move any limb and head....lying and with your tongue......if unable to move tongue ......with your eyes..
Applies to fighting back an enemy.......it doesn't matter being shred to pieces what matters is the stance....the state of not give in to an invader.....or being an easy meal to be devoured.............

Even as a kid our motto was in case you get into a fight with a stronger asshole with thick neck and muscles have the first slap across his face as hard as u can ...then let him do whatever he can............never be a wimp....an easy meal......................
And that is not stupidity .....it is a strategy...it is a way of life............
