Land: Berbera vs Jigjiga

Where would you buy land today Jigjiga or Berbera?

What are the pros and cons in your opinion of each?

I am split between the two but leaning more towards Jigjiga but the political uncertainties make it but wary.

Jigjiga is not bad it has good.climate but it was economically for business very bad during ileey I owned a small bakhaar terrtitory and sold it. Any one who wants to buy some.land in berbera send me a pm I have some good plots for sale very cheap.2

It depends what the land is for. If it's to live on, Berbera would not be on my mind due to it's uncomfortable climate. I've never been to Jigjiga but im sure it's weather is not as uncomfortable as Berberas.

Two very good locations.....however, I'd rather live under a Somali than Ethiopian anyday of the week.

The sl govt really missed a trick in not placing Berbera as a free trade zone for all Somalis...thus making it the premiere Somali port.

The Ethiopians and UAE are never gonna fulfil Berbera's great potential.
Somalis businessmen from all over the peninsula should be encouraged to locate to Berbera with favourable trade terms, good infrastructure, tax breaks and good communications.

Somali entrepreneurship is legendary throughout Africa....Berbera should be tapping into this not running away.

I can only speak about Jigjiga. There is a significant investment pouring into that city. It's also multiclan, diverse, easy to find cheap labor (mostly xabashi, southern Ethiopians). If all your doing is buying land then I would definitely recommend Jigjiga as it's undergoing a population boom at the moment with land prices skyrocketing.
